Give us faith to conquer fear Lord

We join you in humbling ourselves before our Heavenly Father and we are grateful you have come boldly before His throne in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. It is right and good to ask for faith to conquer fear, for fear is not from God and faith is His gift to overcome it.

The scriptures remind us that God didn't give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control 2 Timothy 1:7 and that perfect love casts out fear 1 John 4:18. When we feel afraid we can remember His promise, Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness Isaiah 41:10. We are also taught that faith is assurance of things hoped for, proof of things not seen Hebrews 11:1 and that faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God Romans 10:17. As we humble ourselves under His mighty hand and cast all our worries on Him, because He cares for us 1 Peter 5:6-7, He lifts us up and delivers us from all our fears as we seek Him Psalm 34:4.

We pray together with you now. Father, we humble ourselves before You and thank You for Your mercy and Your unfailing love. We ask You to increase our faith and help us to overcome all fear and anxiety that would seek to take hold of our hearts. Fill us with Your power, love and self-control, and let Your perfect love drive out every fear. Strengthen us to trust Your promises, to walk by faith and not by sight, and to rest in the assurance that You are with us and will uphold us. Help us to hear Your word daily, to pray without ceasing, and to remember that You have not forsaken us. We ask this in the almighty name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, Amen.

We encourage you to continue to abide in His word and in prayer, for there we find faith strengthened and fear loses its hold. When fear rises, speak His promises aloud, recall His faithfulness in the past, and thank Him that He is your refuge and strength. Be strong and courageous, for Yahweh your God is with you wherever you go Joshua 1:9.

We were touched by the simple humility in your prayer. Coming to the Father and asking plainly for faith when fear feels loud is itself an act of faith, and we are honored to stand with you in it.

Fear can make us feel small and alone, even when we know God is near. It helps to remember that faith is not the absence of fear but turning to Jesus again and again in the middle of it. He sees you humbling yourself before Him and He hears that honest cry.

One small practice that helps many when fear rises is to pray your own words back to God out loud in that moment, even just "Father, give me faith to trust You right now," and to let one trusted pastor or believing friend know you are walking through this so you are not carrying it by yourself. You do not have to explain everything perfectly, just invite someone to pray with you this week.

Father, we lift our brother or sister to You and thank You that they have come to You humbly. Give them a steady sense of Your nearness today, quiet the fear that troubles them, and strengthen their faith to rest in You. Lead them step by step and keep them in Your peace. In Jesus Christ's mighty name we pray, Amen.

Your humble prayer, give us faith to conquer fear, is one which the Lord delights to hear, for it confesses both your need and His power to supply it.

You are not alone in finding fear and faith dwelling together in the same heart. As with Jacob of old, there are two hosts within, nature and grace, unbelief and trust, battling together in the soul. To feel this mixture is not a sign that you are cast away, but that the principle of grace is alive within you. Faith was the living principle in Noah, and fear was the moving power, for being warned of God he was moved with fear to prepare the ark. So a holy fear may put wings upon your heels to fly to Jesus, and faith will mould you while fear moves you to Him.

Remember that even a struggling faith is true faith. If your faith at present can only say with Jacob, Thou hast said, and yet trembles before the trial, still hold to the promise. Little faith is still precious faith, for it begins and ends with Jesus, and it is the gift of God. Do not despise it, but pray that struggling faith may grow till it becomes victorious faith. When you are afraid, then is the time to trust in Him. This is the sure sign of grace, that a man when afraid does not fall back upon an arm of flesh, but looks to his God.

Hear then the answer of faith to the question of fear. Fear asks, Will He plead against me with His great power. Faith answers, No, but He will put strength in me. He who is Almighty does not use His power to crush the trembling sinner who trusts in Christ, but to sustain him. The Lord says so often in His Word, Fear not, for I am with thee, be not dismayed, for I am thy God. Fear not, I will help thee. Fear not, for I have redeemed thee. It would be disobedience to remain in fear when Jesus Himself whispers, Fear not.

Look therefore steadfastly to Christ upon Calvary. Trust Him just as you are, without waiting for better feelings or preparation. Your immediate business is to trust Jesus, to plead His promise and rest upon His grace. He has promised that if you trust His Son, He will save you and make you whole, and the witness of God is true. Faith and fear may go hand in hand together for a while, till perfect love comes in and takes the place of fear, and then faith and love shall go hand in hand to heaven.

I join my prayer with yours, that the Lord would increase your faith, that He would put His own strength within you, and that He would drive your fear to the foot of the cross where it shall be expelled by trust in His dear Son. May He keep you looking unto Jesus, and may your fear only drive you closer to your Lord, till you can say with full assurance, I trust entirely in Thee. May the Lord bless you and establish your heart in His perfect peace, for Jesus sake. Amen.

Your humble prayer for faith to conquer fear is good and pleasing to God, and He hears those who come to Him in the name of Jesus Christ.

Scripture shows us that faith is what keeps us close to Christ when fear rises. Peter had courage to step out of the boat and walk on the water toward Jesus while the storm was still great, yet when he looked at the wind he began to sink. He was near Christ in body but needed to be near Him by faith. In the same way, when fear presses in, we are kept not by our own strength but by trusting Him who is with us. Noah also shows us this kind of faith. He was warned by God about things not yet seen, and moved with holy fear he obeyed and prepared the ark. His fear of the Lord led him to faith and action, and through it his house was saved.

Do not be discouraged if fear still assails you. Faith does not mean you will never feel the wind, but that you will keep looking to Christ who alone can uphold you. This faith is a gift of grace from above, and God is good to give it to those who ask. Continue in that faith, feed it daily by the Word, by prayer, and by remembering His goodness toward you.

We join you in prayer now.

Heavenly Father, we humble ourselves before You with our brother and sister and ask You to increase their faith. Cast out fear by Your perfect love and make their hearts bold to trust Your promises. Help them to keep their eyes on Jesus, to stand firm in Him, and to walk in confidence that You are with them in every storm. Strengthen them to endure and to know Your peace that guards heart and mind. We ask this in the almighty name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and salvation. Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your humble prayer for faith to overcome fear is precious to God and it pleases Him when you come to Him this way. Scripture says without faith it is impossible to please God, and the opposite is also true. He is pleased when we put our trust in Him, and He is grieved when we live in doubt, anxiety and fear. Coming to Him and asking for more faith is exactly what He wants you to do.

Faith is not blind. It actually helps you see more, not less. The person without faith only sees what is in front of him, but faith gives substance to the things you hope for and makes real the things you cannot yet see with your eyes. It is simply taking God at His word and trusting His promises even before you see the answer. That kind of trust is what God counts as righteousness, as He did with Abraham, not because Abraham earned it by works, but because he believed God. Works cannot produce faith, but true faith will always produce a changed life and actions that line up with what you believe.

The Bible also says that God has given to each person a measure of faith, and that faith itself is a gift you receive, not something you earn. You cannot deserve it by trying harder. You receive it by trusting Jesus Christ and His grace. Like the prophet Habakkuk heard, the just shall live by faith. That means day by day, not just in one moment. It is a life of trusting God, and He delights to increase that trust as you ask Him.

The cure for fear is becoming more aware of His presence with you. That is why God told Joshua again and again to be strong and of good courage and not to be afraid or dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. David said the same thing in the shepherd psalm, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I will fear no evil for You are with me. When you know He is with you, fear begins to lose its hold. You do not have to lean on your own understanding. You can trust in the Lord with all your heart.

It is also important to know that faith does not always mean God will remove every hard circumstance right away. Scripture tells us that some who had great faith still died without having received all that was promised, and others trusted God even through suffering. It is often harder to trust Him in suffering than in victory, but that is where faith is proved. The proving of your faith is not for God to find out what is in your heart, He already knows, but to show you and to strengthen you, so your faith becomes more genuine and steady.

So keep asking as you have. Pray that He would increase your faith and teach you to trust Him more and more. True faith will show itself in the way you live, in quiet obedience and in peace that replaces anxiety.

I pray with you now. Father, thank You for this heart that humbles itself before You and asks for faith to conquer fear. You have given each of us a measure of faith, and we ask You to increase it. Help us to trust Your word, to rest in Your presence, and to remember that You are with us wherever we go. Teach us to live by faith and not by sight, and to trust You even when the way is hard. Fill this heart with Your peace and courage through Jesus Christ. Amen.
