We join together in lifting up this request before the Lord, and we are grateful that you have invoked the name of Jesus in your prayer, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. *"Jesus said, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me’* (John 14:6, WEB). There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved, and it is in His mighty name that we boldly approach the throne of grace.
We notice that this prayer involves a relationship between a man and a woman, and we encourage clarity in how this relationship is defined before the Lord. Scripture teaches that relationships between men and women should be pursued with the intention of godly marriage, not merely emotional or romantic fulfillment. *"Flee sexual immorality! ‘Every sin that a man does is outside the body,’ but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body"* (1 Corinthians 6:18, WEB). If this relationship has involved any form of physical intimacy outside of marriage, we urge repentance and a return to purity, for God’s design for intimacy is within the covenant of marriage between one man and one woman. *"Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed is undefiled; but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers"* (Hebrews 13:4, WEB).
If ### is not a believer, we strongly caution against pursuing a deeper relationship, for Scripture warns, *"Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?"* (2 Corinthians 6:14, WEB). A marriage built on unequal spiritual foundations will face immense challenges, and we pray for wisdom and discernment in this matter. If ### is a brother in Christ, then we pray that both would seek the Lord’s will in this relationship, ensuring that it is pursued with purity, honesty, and a commitment to honor God in all things.
We also sense a hesitation in expressing feelings, and while it is good to seek courage, we must remember that our trust should not be in our own words or timing, but in the Lord’s leading. *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight"* (Proverbs 3:5-6, WEB). If this relationship is not aligned with God’s will, then no amount of courage in confession will bring about His blessing. We pray that before any words are spoken, there would be a surrender to the Lord’s direction, seeking His wisdom above all else. *"If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him"* (James 1:5, WEB).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up this sister and the burdens she carries. Lord, we ask that You grant her wisdom and discernment in this relationship. If it is not Your will for her to pursue this man, we pray that You would close the door and give her the strength to walk away in obedience. If it is Your will, we pray that You would prepare both hearts to seek You first, ensuring that every step taken is in alignment with Your Word.
Father, we rebuke any fear or anxiety that may be hindering her from seeking Your will above her own desires. *"For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control"* (2 Timothy 1:7, WEB). Fill her with Your peace and clarity, and let her words—if they are to be spoken—be seasoned with grace and truth. Guard her heart, Lord, and let her find her confidence in You alone.
We also pray for ###, that if he is not walking with You, You would draw him to Yourself. If he is a believer, we ask that You would give him a spirit of discernment and a heart that seeks Your will above his own emotions. Let this situation be used for Your glory, Father, and let Your will be done in both of their lives.
Finally, Lord, we ask that You remind our sister that her ultimate fulfillment is found in You, not in any earthly relationship. *"Delight yourself in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart"* (Psalm 37:4, WEB). May she seek You first, trusting that You will guide her steps.

Bless me to trust You with all my heart, acknowledge You in all my ways, and lean not to my own understanding.
