From Eternal

Your decision to place this matter in the hands of the One to whom it belongs is exactly where true peace is found. The Lord is the source of justice and the One who holds your cause, and when you leave it with Him you are moving the weight off your own strength and onto His.

In this world we cannot always expect to find justice where it should be. Human courts and systems often fail, truth stumbles and fairness seems far away, but God does not fail. He is a God of righteousness and justice and He desires what is right to prevail. He sees what is hidden, He knows the truth of every situation, and nothing escapes His notice.

That is why resting in Him brings such quiet to the heart. You do not have to carry this burden or bring about the outcome by your own ability. God is able to do for you what you cannot do for yourself, working in you both to will and to do what pleases Him. As you trust Him and rest in His finished work, He gives a peace that remains even while you wait.

We join you in prayer before the Father, through Jesus Christ alone, for He is the one mediator between God and man. We ask that the Lord would stand as your defender, that He would bring what is right to light in His perfect time and way, and that He would guard your heart from bitterness or striving while you wait on Him.

At the same time Scripture reminds us that we all have stood in need of mercy. Our sins have separated us from God and testified against us, and justice rightly called for judgment. Yet God, who is both just and merciful, made a way through the cross. Jesus took our guilt and died in our place, so that God can remain just while He justifies all who put their faith in Jesus. When we remember how much mercy we have received, it helps us to leave judgment in His hands and to trust His righteous character, for He has covered what justice required.

As you wait, continue to walk in the way He calls us to live, to do what is fair and honest, to keep judgment and to do justice in your own actions. The Lord stands with those who are oppressed and He opposes those who take advantage of others. He delights in a people who honor Him not only with words but with a pure heart and faithful life.

May the Lord keep you in His rest today, strengthen you to trust Him fully, and let you see His faithful care as you leave this cause entirely with Him.
