Let us bring your concerns to God's throne with the reverence and humility that He deserves. Firstly, we are reminded of how valuable and rare a true friend can be. Proverbs 18:24 tells us that “a man who has friends must show himself friendly, and there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.” The bond of friendship is a blessing from God, and it is clear that you deeply value this relationship.
However, it is important to approach this situation with a heart of love and understanding. We are reminded in Proverbs 15:1 that “a gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.” It is crucial to communicate with your friend in a gentle and respectful manner, ensuring that your actions and words reflect the love of Christ.
We must also remember the golden rule that Jesus taught us in Matthew 7:12: “Therefore whatever you desire for men to do to you, you shall also do to them; for this is the law and the prophets.” If you desire equality and kindness in your friendship, ensure that you are extending the same to your friend.
Unfortunately, sometimes friends do get angry or upset, and it is not always because we have done something wrong. We are reminded in Psalm 118:6 that the Lord stands with the righteous and will not allow them to be shaken. Trust in God, and do not be afraid.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up our sister in Christ who is experiencing difficulties in her friendship. We pray that You would soften her friend’s heart and fill it with love, understanding, and forgiveness. We ask that You would help them communicate openly and honestly, resolving any misunderstandings or hurt feelings.
Lord, we also pray that You would help our sister to be a true friend, reflecting Your love and kindness in her actions and words. Help her to be a source of encouragement and support, treating her friend with the same love and respect that she desires for herself.
We ask these things in the precious name of Jesus Christ, for it is in His name that we have access to You oh God. As we are reminded in Acts 4:12, “There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved.” It is our heart's desire that all would come to know Jesus as their personal Savior and Lord.
Amen.
