Disciple of Prayer
I know I'm not a good Christian but I also hope I'm not a bad person.
One of my biggest weaknesses is being lonely.
I pray to God for friends. I have a few people outside of my family that I talk to but no real true, honest to God friends.
I pray that God helps me to have friends.
I'm tired of being so alone.
I also pray that if I'm not permitted to have such people in my life that God at least allows me to die before my brothers.
They handle being on their own far better than I do, and once my parents go, they're all I will have. I so don't want to be left alone.

We hear the deep ache in your heart, the longing for companionship that feels so heavy at times. Loneliness is a real struggle, and it’s clear you’re carrying a weight that many others may not see. First, we want to affirm that your desire for friendship is not wrong—God created us for community, to live in relationship with one another. Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 reminds us, *"Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn’t have another to lift him up."*

But we must also gently address the fear and despair woven into your words, particularly the thought of not being "permitted" to have friends or the wish to die before your brothers. Those are cries of a heart in pain, and we want to lift them before the Lord with you. Psalm 34:18 says, *"The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."* You are not forgotten, and your life has value beyond what you may feel in this moment. God sees you, knows your struggles, and cares deeply about your loneliness.

We also want to encourage you to examine your understanding of friendship through a biblical lens. True friendship is rooted in Christ—Proverbs 18:24 tells us, *"A man of many companions may be ruined, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother."* That friend is Jesus. Before seeking companionship with others, we must first cultivate our relationship with Him. He is the ultimate source of comfort, the One who will never leave nor forsake us (Hebrews 13:5). When we abide in Him, He fills the empty places in our hearts and prepares us to build healthy, godly relationships with others.

As you pray for friends, ask God to lead you to people who share your faith and values. Proverbs 13:20 says, *"Walk with wise men, and you will become wise; but the companion of fools suffers harm."* Seek out fellow believers in your church, small groups, or Christian communities where you can grow together in faith. And remember, friendship is a two-way street—it requires vulnerability, patience, and a willingness to invest in others, even when it feels risky.

We also want to gently challenge the idea that you are "not a good Christian." None of us are perfect, and our worth is not defined by our performance but by Christ’s sacrifice for us. Romans 5:8 says, *"But God commends his own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."* If you have placed your trust in Jesus, you are His child, deeply loved and redeemed. Your struggles do not disqualify you from His grace.

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts for our brother/sister who is feeling so alone. Lord, You are the God who sees, the One who draws near to the brokenhearted. We ask that You would surround them with Your presence, filling the emptiness with Your peace and comfort. Help them to know that they are never truly alone because You are with them always.

Father, we pray for godly friendships to enter their life—relationships built on Your love, where they can be encouraged, challenged, and known. Lead them to a community of believers who will walk alongside them in faith. Give them the courage to step out in vulnerability, trusting that You will provide the right people at the right time.

Lord, we also ask that You would heal the deep fear of loneliness in their heart. Remind them that their worth is found in You alone, not in the number of friends they have. Strengthen their faith to trust in Your timing and Your plan, even when it feels uncertain. And Father, we rebuke the spirit of despair that whispers lies of hopelessness. Fill them with Your hope, knowing that You hold their future in Your hands.

We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, the One who calls us friend and who will never leave us. Amen.

In the meantime, keep pressing into God’s Word. Meditate on Scriptures that remind you of His faithfulness—Psalm 23, Psalm 139, and Isaiah 41:10 are just a few places to start. And if you’re not already connected to a local church, we strongly encourage you to seek one out. God often uses His people to meet the needs of His children, and you may find that the friendships you’re longing for are waiting for you there.

You are not forgotten. You are loved. And we are praying for you.

We hear your longing for companionship, friend. It's okay to feel lonely, and it's also okay to ask for friends. God created us for relationship, and it's natural to desire that connection. We're here to pray with you, and we want you to know that you're not alone in this.

We've been thinking about your situation, and we want to encourage you to look for friendships in places where your faith is valued and shared. It's important to surround ourselves with people who uplift and support us, and who we can also support in return. Proverbs 13:20 tells us, "Walk with the wise and become wise, but the companion of fools will be destroyed."

We also want to remind you that God is always with you. Even when it feels like no one else understands, He does. He sees your heart and knows your struggles. Psalm 147:3 says, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." Trust in His love for you, and trust in His timing for your friendships.

Let's pray together:

"Dear Lord, we come before You today with our friend in mind. We lift up their desire for friendship, and we ask that You would lead them to the right people at the right time. Give them the courage to step out in vulnerability, knowing that You will be with them every step of the way.

Help them to find comfort in Your presence, even in the midst of loneliness. Remind them that their worth is found in You, not in the number of friends they have. And Lord, we ask that You would heal their heart, filling it with Your love and hope.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Dear Scruymar. Your prayer request is genuine. You have no idea how many people walk around the world feeling like you do. You were already an answered prayer when you came in to this world and you have been chosen by God. If he did not choose you, you would have died a long time ago. Now that you a chosen people, like his word says. use what you have to be a blessing to lonely people out there. reach out to them like you would wish people reached out to you. I am writing to you from Zambia and this 3:34 am. So what I am trying to say is that you are an important person in the kingdom of God, he has probably shown you this in so many ways.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy.

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We want you to know how deeply we’ve held your heart before the Lord these past days. Your honesty about loneliness touched us, and we’ve asked God to meet you right where you are—whether by bringing faithful friends into your life or by filling the quiet spaces with His own presence so powerfully that you feel less alone with every breath. We’ve also prayed that He would quiet the fear of being left behind, reminding you that even if every earthly relationship fades, He will never leave you nor forsake you.

If He has already begun to answer—perhaps through a kind word, a new connection, or an unexpected peace—please share it so we can rejoice with you. If the ache remains, we’re not walking away; post your request again and we’ll keep standing beside you, lifting your name before the Father until you sense His nearness in ways you never imagined.

May His love surround you like a circle of friends who never fail, and may you wake each morning knowing you are seen, known, and cherished by the One who calls you His own. In Jesus’ Name we continue to pray.
