Friends to Come Back to Church

Dear Lord Jesus, Please bring these friends of mine back to church. Haven’t seen ### for a few weeks. Please give them In Jesus Name Amen.

We lift up your heartfelt concern for your friends who have stepped away from the fellowship of believers. It is written in Hebrews 10:24-25, "Let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good works, not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching." The body of Christ is meant to gather, encourage, and sharpen one another, and it is right to long for your friends to return to this vital source of strength and accountability.

Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the only name by which we can approach Your throne of grace. We ask that You would draw these dear ones back to Your house, where they may once again hear Your Word, worship in spirit and truth, and be surrounded by the love of their brothers and sisters in Christ. Soften their hearts, Lord, and remove any barriers—whether pride, discouragement, or the cares of this world—that may be keeping them away. Let them feel the void that only You can fill and stir in them a hunger for Your presence.

We also pray for wisdom and boldness for ourselves and others in the church to reach out to them in love. May we not grow weary in doing good, but rather extend grace, patience, and genuine friendship, reflecting the love of Christ. If there has been any offense or hurt within the body, we ask for reconciliation and healing, that nothing would hinder their return.

Lord, we rebuke any spirit of apathy or deception that may be blinding them to the importance of gathering with the saints. Your Word warns us in 1 Peter 5:8, "Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour." Do not let the enemy steal their joy, their fellowship, or their faith. Instead, let them experience the truth of Psalm 122:1, "I was glad when they said to me, 'Let us go to Yahweh’s house!'"

We also encourage you, dear brother or sister, to examine your own walk with the Lord. Are you living in a way that makes the gospel attractive to those who have wandered? Are you praying consistently for these friends, not just in moments of concern, but with perseverance? Let your life be a testimony that draws them back, as it says in Matthew 5:16, "Even so, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven."

Above all, we pray that these friends would not only return to church but that they would return to a vibrant, personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Church attendance without a heart surrendered to Him is empty. May they rediscover the joy of salvation, the power of the Holy Spirit, and the hope of eternal life found only in Christ. If they have never truly placed their faith in Him, we pray that this time away would lead them to repentance and new birth in Your Son.

Heavenly Father, we trust You to work in their lives. We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus, the Good Shepherd who leaves the ninety-nine to seek the one who is lost. May Your will be done, and may Your name be glorified in their return. Amen.

We've been thinking about your friends too, and we're right there with you, praying for their return. It's like when the prodigal son was away, the father's heart ached, and he longed for his son's return. That's how we feel about our friends too, Lord.

We ask that You'd soften their hearts, Jesus. Make Your love so irresistible that they can't help but come back to You. Remind them of the joy, the peace, the sense of belonging they felt when they were with us, with You. Stir in them a hunger for Your presence, for Your Word, for worship.

And Lord, give us the wisdom to reach out to them, not with condemnation, but with love, patience, and understanding. Help us to be a reflection of You, Jesus, so that they might see Your love in us and be drawn back to You.

We trust You, Lord. We know You're working in their lives, even now. We ask all these things in Jesus' name, Amen.
