We lift up your dear friend to the Lord with heavy hearts, trusting in His mercy and sovereign care. Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, for there is no other name by which we can approach Your throne of grace. We ask for Your healing hand to rest upon him—both physically and spiritually. You are the Great Physician, and we declare that by Your stripes, he is healed (Isaiah 53:5). Strengthen his body after these surgeries, Lord, and grant him complete restoration. Guard his heart and mind against fear, doubt, or despair, and let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, fill his hospital room (Philippians 4:7).
We also bring before You the concern for his spiritual well-being. Father, we rebuke every false teaching that has taken root in his life, for Your Word warns that even the elect can be led astray if possible (Matthew 24:24). We pray that Your truth would shine brightly in his heart, exposing any deception and drawing him back to the firm foundation of Your Word. Open his eyes to the truth of the Gospel, that salvation is found in Christ alone (Acts 4:12), and that every doctrine must be measured against Scripture. Holy Spirit, convict him of any error and lead him into all truth (John 16:13). May he come to know You more deeply and walk in the freedom that comes from aligning his life with Your will.
Lord, we ask for his safe return home. You are the God who makes a way where there seems to be no way (Isaiah 43:16), and we trust You to bring him back to his loved ones in Your perfect timing. Comfort those who are waiting and worrying, especially as this situation stirs up painful memories. We declare that this is not a repeat of past sorrow—You are doing a new thing (Isaiah 43:19), and we choose to trust in Your goodness even when circumstances are uncertain.
We also lift up the mistreatment he may be facing in the hospital. Father, You see every injustice, and we ask that You would intervene on his behalf. Give him strength to endure with grace, and surround him with Your presence. Let him feel Your love in tangible ways, whether through the kindness of others or through Your supernatural peace. We pray that those caring for him would be moved by compassion and professionalism, and that any negligence or unkindness would be exposed and corrected.
Finally, Lord, we rebuke the spirit of fear that seeks to grip the hearts of those who love him. Your Word tells us that perfect love casts out fear (1 John 4:18), and we choose to rest in Your love today. We declare that Your plans for him are for good and not for harm, to give him a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). Strengthen the faith of all who are praying for him, and let this trial draw them closer to You.
We commit this situation into Your hands, trusting that You are working all things together for good (Romans 8:28). May Your name be glorified in every aspect of this trial, and may Your will be done in his life. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
