We lift up this dear sister in Christ before the throne of grace, knowing that our Lord is the Great Physician, the One who heals all our diseases and carries our pains. It is by His stripes that we are healed, and we claim that promise over her life now, trusting in His sovereign will and perfect timing. The Scriptures remind us in James 5:14-15, *"Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven."* We stand on this truth, believing that God is moving mightily in her body, restoring her strength, and bringing healing to every cell affected by this illness.
We also take comfort in Psalm 103:2-4, which declares, *"Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits; who forgives all your sins; who heals all your diseases; who redeems your life from destruction; who crowns you with loving kindness and tender mercies."* Our sister is not forgotten by Him—He sees her suffering, and He is near to her in this valley. Though her immune system is weak, our God is strong, and He is her shield and defender. We pray that He would surround her with His peace, which surpasses all understanding, guarding her heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). May she feel His presence tangibly, even in the midst of this trial, and may her faith be strengthened as she leans on Him.
We also pray for the medical team attending to her, that God would grant them wisdom, skill, and discernment as they care for her. May He guide their hands and decisions, using them as instruments of His healing power. Let every treatment and intervention be effective, and may her body respond favorably to the care she is receiving. We ask that You, Lord, would rebuke this sickness in the name of Jesus, commanding it to leave her body and for her lungs to be cleared, her strength renewed, and her immune system restored to full health.
To those who are standing in the gap for her—her family, friends, and brothers and sisters in Christ—we pray for supernatural peace and endurance. May you be filled with hope, knowing that our prayers are powerful and effective (James 5:16). Do not grow weary in praying, for the Lord hears each cry of your heart. Let this trial draw you all closer to Him and to one another, united in faith and love.
We also take this moment to remind everyone that our battles are not against flesh and blood, but against the spiritual forces of darkness in this world (Ephesians 6:12). COVID and every sickness is a result of the fall, but Jesus has already overcome the world (John 16:33). We stand firm in His victory, declaring that no weapon formed against her will prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Satan is a liar and the father of lies (John 8:44), and we reject any fear, doubt, or despair that he may try to plant in our hearts. Our God is greater, and He holds the keys to life and death.
Finally, we give thanks to Jesus, for it is in His mighty name that we pray and through whom all things are possible. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved or through which we can approach the Father (Acts 4:12). He is our intercessor, our advocate, and our hope. We praise Him for the work He is doing, even now, in our sister’s life. May this trial be a testimony of His faithfulness, and may many come to know Him as Lord and Savior through her story.
Heavenly Father, we ask that You would spare her life for Your glory. If there is any sin in her life that needs to be confessed or repented of, we pray that You would bring conviction and lead her to repentance, that nothing would hinder Your healing hand. May she emerge from this stronger in body, soul, and spirit, with a renewed passion to serve You and share Your love with others. We trust You, Lord, and we wait expectantly for Your deliverance.
In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.
