Friend attempting suicide

Disciple of Prayer
Please pray for my friend ###. She lives in ### in ###, ###. Today she told me was going to commit suicide and that she said her goodbye to me. I tried to stop her but she insisted and told me she made efforts already and she stopped responding. Please pray Christ saves her and keeps her alive and heals her completely. Please pray that her suicide attempt will fail and that she will be completely saved and protected in Christ's name.

Our hearts are deeply grieved to hear of your friend’s despair, but we take hope in knowing that our God is a God of deliverance, healing, and redemption—even in the darkest moments. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we may have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). Suicide is a lie from the pit of hell, a permanent "solution" to what are always temporary struggles, and it breaks the heart of God, who knit your friend together in her mother’s womb (Psalm 139:13-16). Her life is precious to Him, and He longs to restore her hope and purpose.

We are thankful you reached out in faith, and we join you in crying out to the Lord for her salvation—both physically and spiritually. The Scriptures remind us that nothing is impossible with God (Luke 1:37), and He is near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18). We pray that even now, the Lord is intervening to thwart every plan of the enemy against her life. May He send angels to guard her, confuse the hands of darkness, and breathe His life-giving Spirit into her soul. Let every weapon formed against her fail, and may she be found alive, whole, and surrounded by His peace that surpasses all understanding (Isaiah 54:17, Philippians 4:7).

Yet we must also address the spiritual battle at hand. Suicide often stems from deep spiritual oppression, hopelessness, or unbelief. If your friend does not know Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, her greatest need is not just physical rescue but eternal salvation. The Bible declares that *there is no other name under heaven given among men, by which we must be saved* (Acts 4:12). Without Christ, there is no true hope—only the empty promises of this world. If she is unsaved, we pray that even in this moment, the Holy Spirit would convict her heart, reveal the love of the Father, and draw her to repentance and faith in Jesus. May she surrender her pain, her sins, and her burdens at the foot of the cross, where true healing begins.

For you, dear brother or sister, we encourage you to keep praying *without ceasing* (1 Thessalonians 5:17). Reach out to local authorities or trusted believers in her area who can physically intervene—faith without works is dead (James 2:17), and God often uses His people as vessels of rescue. Speak life over her, remind her of God’s promises, and do not let the enemy silence your prayers. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous person avails much (James 5:16).

Here is our prayer for her:

*"Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this precious soul who is teetering on the edge of despair. Lord, You are the God who sees (Genesis 16:13), and You see her pain, her loneliness, and the lies she has believed. We ask You to *immediately* dispatch Your angels to surround her, to bind every spirit of death, hopelessness, and confusion, and to loose Your Spirit of life, peace, and truth over her (Psalm 91:11, Matthew 18:18). Frustrate every plan of the enemy to destroy her, and let her attempts fail utterly. Raise up divine interventions—people, circumstances, even supernatural encounters—to pull her back from the brink.

Father, if she does not know You, we pray that right now, the veil would be lifted from her eyes, and she would see Jesus as He truly is: the Way, the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6). Convict her of sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:8), and draw her to Yourself with cords of love (Hosea 11:4). Let her cry out to You in repentance and be saved, for *whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved* (Romans 10:13). Fill her with Your Holy Spirit, and let her know she is *fearfully and wonderfully made* (Psalm 139:14), with a purpose and a future in You (Jeremiah 29:11).

Lord, heal her mind, body, and spirit. Break the chains of depression, anxiety, and every stronghold that has kept her bound. Let her encounter Your love in a tangible way—love that casts out all fear (1 John 4:18). Surround her with Your presence, and let her know she is *not alone*, for You will never leave her nor forsake her (Deuteronomy 31:6).

We declare that *satan has no authority over her life*—Jesus has already defeated death, hell, and the grave (1 Corinthians 15:55-57). By the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony, we command every spirit of suicide to flee from her in Jesus’ name (Revelation 12:11). Let her story be a testimony of Your power to save, heal, and restore.

Strengthen those who love her, including this dear intercessor, with Your peace and perseverance. Show them how to help her, and bring godly counsel and support into her life. May she soon stand firm in the faith, rooted and grounded in Your love, and walk in the victory Christ has already won.

We ask all this in the precious, powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen."*

Stand firm in faith, beloved. Do not lose heart. The Lord hears your cries, and He is moving on her behalf. Keep praying, keep believing, and trust that God is able to do *exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think* (Ephesians 3:20). If you have not already, reach out to her local church, family, or emergency services to ensure she receives immediate help. You are not alone in this—*we* are standing with you, and *He* who is in you is greater than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4).

We're here with you, praying fervently for your friend. It's heart-wrenching to hear about her despair, but we find hope in knowing that God is a God of redemption and healing. We're asking Jesus to intervene, to send His angels to surround her, to confuse the enemy's plans, and to breathe life into her soul. We're believing that her attempt will fail and that she will be found alive, whole, and at peace.

We're also asking God to reveal Himself to her, to convict her heart of sin and draw her to repentance and faith in Jesus. If she doesn't know Him, we're praying that she would cry out to Him and be saved.

Let's keep praying, believing, and trusting that God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think. Let's also reach out to local authorities or trusted believers in her area who can physically intervene and help her.

Jesus Christ of truth, help me! Jesus, please destroy a narrator that may be controlling me. Jesus, please destroy a split personality that refers to itself as "we", and might be a curse from my younger sister who had participated in an American voting. I thank Jesus for the religious patriotism...
