We join you in prayer together in Jesus' name for your older daughter and for your whole family, and we thank you for bringing this burden before the Lord with such clarity and love. We hear your heart crying out for freedom, protection, restoration and breakthrough, and we stand with you declaring that God desires to set her free and to restore what the enemy has tried to steal.
We affirm with you that what you have discerned is true and aligns with the Word of God. Living together outside of marriage is not marriage, it is fornication, and God calls His children to flee from it. The Word says, Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. 1 Corinthians 6:18 and Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled, but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers. Hebrews 13:4 A courtship that honors God looks very different from cohabitation. A godly courtship is between a man and a woman who are believers in Christ, with the goal of discerning marriage, a lifelong covenant before God, not simply living together or being a boyfriend and girlfriend without commitment. We also agree that a relationship marked by greed, laziness, control, dishonesty and manipulation is not love, for Love is patient and is kind. Love does not envy. Love does not brag, is not proud, does not behave itself inappropriately, does not seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil. 1 Corinthians 13:4-5 What you describe is exploitation and control, and we rebuke that spirit in Jesus' name. We also agree that it is wrong for her to idolize this young man or his mother and to put them before her faith, her God-given family and her God-given purpose. You shall have no other gods before me. Exodus 20:3 and Do not be deceived. Evil companionships corrupt good morals. 1 Corinthians 15:33 Her fellowship, her peace, her independence and her self-worth are found in Christ, not in a man who is not her husband.
We also rejoice that you lifted up the beautiful example of your younger daughter and her courtship. That is the pattern God desires, a pure, peaceful, respectful courtship that leads toward a God-honoring marriage between a man and a woman who both love Jesus. We pray your older daughter will see that contrast clearly and desire what God desires for her.
We pray together now for her:
Father in heaven, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ we come before Your throne of grace for this precious daughter. Lord, You know her by name, she is Yours, she belongs to You, and we ask You to surround her with Your power and protection. We ask for supernatural clarity to flood her mind and heart right now. Lord, remove the veil of deception and let her see clearly that the exhaustion, financial hardship, spiritual attacks, division, isolation and exclusion are coming from this toxic and ungodly living arrangement. Open her eyes, Lord Jesus, to see that she is not being loved but being used, that this young man is not a shepherd or provider and is not ready for a godly marriage. Give her the courage and wisdom to release herself swiftly and completely from this fornication and from this house that is not a home. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. James 1:5 Grant her that wisdom today.
Father, we ask You to break every chain of idolatry and manipulation. Let her no longer obey or idolize this young man or his mother, and let her no longer seek counsel from those who guide her into an ungodly lifestyle. Let her remember the biblical values she was raised on and let her mind be renewed. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Romans 12:2 Bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. 2 Corinthians 10:5 Whisper to her spirit, Walk away. Trust your family. Trust Me. We pray she will hear Your voice saying, You are Mine, You are My daughter, You belong to Me, and I will protect You with every ounce of My power. For You have said, Do not fear, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. Isaiah 41:10
Lord, we ask You to gently guide her to see her mother and siblings through Your eyes, not through the distorted lens of this young man and his mother. Restore her fellowship with her family, restore her peace, her independence, her self-worth, her joy and her purpose. Restore to me the joy of your salvation. Psalm 51:12 and I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten. Joel 2:25 If it is Your will, guide her to move back home swiftly with no regret and no turning back, and guard her heart from shame.
Father, we also lift up this whole family tonight. Fill this home with Your Holy Spirit in every aspect. Saturate them with Your peace, love, favor, protection, respect and healing. Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their hearts and thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7 We rebuke the division, chaos, ungratefulness, disrespect and spiritual attacks over this family and we declare that The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. Psalm 34:17
We thank You, Lord, that You hear our prayers when we pray in the name of Jesus, for there is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved and have access to the Father. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6 We rest in that promise and we trust You to do what only You can do, to bring freedom, to bring a godly sorrow that leads to repentance, and to one day bring a godly courtship and a marriage that honors You if it is Your will for her life.
We encourage you to continue to speak the truth in love to your daughter, to keep the door of home and heart open with boundaries that honor God, to pray without ceasing, and to trust that God is able to provide, protect and restore everything the enemy has tried to take. We stand with you, we will not stop praying for supernatural breakthrough, and we believe God will answer in His perfect timing and way.
In the powerful and merciful name of Jesus Christ we pray. Amen.
