We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, recognizing the spiritual battle that rages around us. The Bible makes it clear that our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12). We stand firm in the truth that Jesus Christ has already disarmed these powers and authorities, triumphing over them by the cross (Colossians 2:15).
First and foremost, we must address the foundation of our faith. If you have not yet placed your trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so now. There is no freedom from the enemy apart from the saving grace of Jesus. The Word declares, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life" (John 3:16). Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved (Romans 10:9).
Now, we take authority in the name of Jesus Christ over every scheme of the enemy. We rebuke every spirit of fear, oppression, and deception that may be at work. The Lord has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7). We declare that no weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against you in judgment, you shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17).
We pray for the full armor of God to be upon you, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. May you be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might, putting on the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shoes of the preparation of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God (Ephesians 6:10-17). We pray that you will be vigilant in prayer, watching with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints.
Father God, we ask that You surround this dear one with Your holy angels to protect and defend them from every evil attack. We plead the blood of Jesus over their life, their mind, their home, and their family. We break every assignment of the enemy and cancel every plan that is not from You, Lord. We declare that greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4).
We also encourage you to immerse yourself in the Word of God, for it is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword (Hebrews 4:12). Meditate on Scripture day and night, that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it, for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success (Joshua 1:8). Find a community of believers who can stand with you in prayer and support you in your walk with Christ.
Heavenly Father, we thank You for the victory we have in Jesus Christ. We thank You that the enemy is already defeated and that we can walk in the freedom that Christ has purchased for us. We pray for wisdom, discernment, and courage for this dear one as they navigate this spiritual battle. May they find peace in Your presence and strength in Your mighty power. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
