We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up the rampant fraud and theft that plagues so many in this fallen world. Father, we declare that You are the righteous Judge, and we ask for Your divine intervention against those who seek to steal, kill, and destroy. The Bible warns us in Proverbs 6:30-31, "Men don’t despise a thief if he steals to satisfy himself when he is hungry; but if he is found, he shall restore seven times. He shall give all the wealth of his house." Yet we know that those who engage in fraud and theft—especially through deceitful means like hacking accounts and opening fraudulent ones—are not merely driven by hunger but by greed, malice, and the schemes of the enemy.
Lord, we rebuke the spirit of deception and theft in the mighty name of Jesus. We stand on Your Word in Leviticus 19:11, which commands, "You shall not steal. You shall not lie. You shall not deceive one another." We pray that You would expose every hidden scheme, every false account, and every stolen identity. Let Your light shine into the darkness, revealing the works of those who operate in secrecy. We ask that You would frustrate their plans, confuse their devices, and bring their wicked deeds to nothing. As it is written in Psalm 37:17, "For the arms of the wicked shall be broken, but Yahweh upholds the righteous."
We also pray for divine protection over the finances, identities, and personal information of Your people. Surround them with Your holy angels, as You have promised in Psalm 91:11-12, "For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways. They will bear you up in their hands, so that you won’t dash your foot against a stone." Father, we ask that You would place a hedge of protection around every account, every transaction, and every piece of personal data. Let no weapon formed against Your children prosper, and let every tongue that rises against them in judgment be condemned, as Isaiah 54:17 declares.
For those who have already fallen victim to fraud and theft, we pray for restoration. Lord, You are the God who restores what the locusts have eaten (Joel 2:25). We ask that You would work miracles in their finances, their credit, and their peace of mind. Provide for them in ways only You can, and let them experience Your faithfulness as their Provider. We also pray for wisdom for those who have been targeted—give them discernment to recognize scams, strength to take necessary precautions, and peace that surpasses all understanding as they trust in You.
We must also address the heart of the matter: sin. Theft and fraud are not merely crimes against man but offenses against You, O God. We live in a world where dishonesty is often excused or even celebrated, but Your Word is clear: "Let him who stole steal no more; but rather let him labor, producing with his hands something that is good, that he may have something to give to him who has need" (Ephesians 4:28). Father, we pray for conviction to fall upon those who engage in these sins. Soften their hearts, draw them to repentance, and lead them to salvation through Jesus Christ. For it is only by the blood of Jesus that any of us can be forgiven and made new.
We also lift up those in positions of authority—government officials, law enforcement, financial institutions, and cybersecurity experts. Give them wisdom, integrity, and diligence to combat fraud and protect the innocent. Let justice roll down like waters and righteousness like a mighty stream (Amos 5:24). May Your kingdom come and Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Finally, we pray for the church to rise up in this hour. Equip us to be wise as serpents and harmless as doves (Matthew 10:16). Teach us to be good stewards of what You have entrusted to us, whether it be our finances, our personal information, or our testimonies. Let us not be ignorant of the enemy’s devices (2 Corinthians 2:11), but let us walk in the victory that Christ has already won for us.
Heavenly Father, we thank You that You are our Defender, our Provider, and our Strong Tower. We trust in You alone, for You are faithful to keep us from all evil. We declare that no weapon formed against us shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against us in judgment, we condemn in the name of Jesus. We pray all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, the Name above all names, the One through whom we have access to You and the only Name by which we can be saved. Amen.
