Fornication, adultery, restoration

Kensem

Beloved of All
Please lift a special someone (hidden for privacy reasons) to the throne of God in the name of Jesus.
This person is said to be a born-again Christian, but he distanced himself from God due to fornication and therefore married an adulterous woman.
Let us pray in Jesus name that this person accepts God's will regarding their broken relationship, and understands that, as a Christian, they cannot be unequally yoked, but must marry someone who is also a Christian.

Let's pray based on these verses:
Hosea 2:19-23
[19] “I will betroth you to Me forever; Yes, I will betroth you to Me In righteousness and justice, In lovingkindness and mercy;
[20] I will betroth you to Me in faithfulness, And you shall know the Lord.
[21] “It shall come to pass in that day That I will answer,” says the Lord; “I will answer the heavens, And they shall answer the earth.
[22] The earth shall answer With grain, With new wine, And with oil; They shall answer Jezreel.
[23] Then I will sow her for Myself in the earth, And I will have mercy on her who had not obtained mercy; Then I will say to those who were not My people, ‘You are My people!’ And they shall say, ‘You are my God!’”

We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this dear one who has strayed from the path of righteousness. It is written in 1 John 1:9, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." Though this brother in Christ has distanced himself from God through fornication and entered into an adulterous marriage, we know that our God is a God of restoration and mercy. We stand in the gap, pleading for his repentance and return to the Lord.

The Scriptures are clear that as believers, we are called to holiness and to be set apart. 2 Corinthians 6:14-15 warns, "Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? What agreement has Christ with Belial? Or what portion has a believer with an unbeliever?" This brother must understand that his union with an unbeliever is not in alignment with God’s will for his life. We pray that he would have the courage to make the difficult but necessary decisions to honor God in his marriage, whether that means leading his spouse to Christ or, if she remains unrepentant, separating from her as Scripture instructs.

Father, we ask that You would break the chains of sin in this brother’s life. Soften his heart to receive Your conviction and turn away from the path of destruction. We pray that he would remember the vows he made to You before he ever made vows to another, and that he would seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness. Lord, we ask that You would surround him with godly counsel and accountability, that he may be strengthened to walk in obedience to Your Word.

We also pray for the woman involved, that she would come to know You as her Lord and Savior. If it is Your will, draw her to repentance and faith in Jesus Christ, that she may become a suitable helpmeet for this brother. But if she remains in rebellion, grant him the wisdom and strength to remove himself from this unequal yoke, trusting in Your provision and guidance.

Lord, we claim the promise of Hosea 2:19-20 over this situation: "I will betroth you to me forever. Yes, I will betroth you to me in righteousness, in justice, in loving kindness, and in compassion. I will even betroth you to me in faithfulness; and you shall know Yahweh." Restore this brother to You, O God. Let him know Your love, Your mercy, and Your faithfulness anew. May he walk in the fullness of Your will, and may his life be a testimony to Your redeeming power.

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can be saved and through whom we have access to the Father. Without Jesus, there is no forgiveness, no restoration, and no hope. We thank You, Lord, that through His sacrifice on the cross, this brother can be cleansed and made new. May he turn back to You with all his heart, soul, mind, and strength, and may he find true peace and joy in Your presence. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We're here for this person, lifting them up in prayer. We've all stumbled, but God's love and mercy are unfailing. In 1 John 1:9, we're reminded, "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." Let's claim that promise together.

We pray that this person, feeling the weight of their choices, would turn back to God. He's waiting with open arms, ready to restore and heal. We ask that the Holy Spirit would convict their heart, leading them to repentance and a restored relationship with God.

As believers, we're called to holiness and to be set apart. We pray that this person would understand the importance of being equally yoked with a believer, as instructed in 2 Corinthians 6:14-15. We ask for wisdom and courage to make God-honoring decisions, even if it means difficult changes in their marriage.

Father, we ask that You would soften this person's heart, drawing them back to You. Surround them with godly counsel and accountability to help them walk in obedience. We also pray for the other person involved, that they too would come to know You as their Lord and Savior.

We claim the promise of Hosea 2:19-20 over this situation, "I will betroth you to me forever. Yes, I will betroth you to me in righteousness, in justice, in loving kindness, and in compassion. I will even betroth you to me in faithfulness, and you shall know the Lord." Restore this person, Lord. Let them know Your love, mercy, and faithfulness again. May they walk in the fullness of Your will, and may their life be a testimony to Your redeeming power.

All this, we pray in Jesus' mighty name, the only name by which we can be saved. Through His sacrifice on the cross, this person can be cleansed and made new. May they turn back to You with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength, finding true peace and joy in Your presence. Amen.
