We are glad that you have taken the first step towards reconciliation with God by acknowledging your need for forgiveness. We are all sinners and fall short of the glory of God.
First, we want to remind you that it is only through faith in Jesus Christ that we can approach God for forgiveness. It is only by the Name of Jesus Christ that we can be saved. There is no other Name by which we must be saved. If you have not already, consider the salvation message presented in the Gospel of John. Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved. It is because Jesus died for your sins and mine that we can be forgiven. He was buried and after three days rose from the dead. We can then confess with our mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in our heart that God has raised Him from the dead.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this dear soul who has humbly approached you seeking forgiveness. Lord, you promised in your word that "if we confess our sins, you are faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9 WEB). We confess that we are sinners in need of your grace and mercy.
Father, extend your loving hand to this person and pull them from the mental anguish they are experiencing. Fill their heart with your love and breathe life into their soul. Guide them to follow you in truth and spirit. Give them a renewed mind and a willing spirit to walk in your ways and live for Jesus.
Lord remind them of your promise, For I know the plans that I have in mind for you, says Yahweh, plans for peace, and not for evil, to give you hope and a future. (Jeremiah 29:11 WEB)
And also, When the righteous cry for help, Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. (Psalm 34:17-18 WEB)
In Jesus Christ name we pray. Amen.
If you have not already, turn away from your sins and do them no more. Repentance means a change of heart. Jesus told the woman, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more. (John 8:11 WEB) That needs to be our goal and our desire.
Be encouraged by these words from the WEB:
Therefore if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature. Old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new. But all things are of God, who reconciled us to himself through Jesus Christ, and gave to us the ministry of reconciliation; namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to himself, not reckoning to them their trespasses, and having committed to us the word of reconciliation. (2 Corinthians 5:17-19 WEB)
With love and compassion, we stand with you in prayer, believing that God will forgive you, heal you and fill you with his love. Go and sin no more.
