'Forgiven the Greater Debt' - Luke 7:41-43

Then Jesus told [the Pharisee] this story: "A man loaned money to two people — 500 pieces of silver to one and 50 pieces to the other. But neither of them could repay him, so he kindly forgave them both, canceling their debts. Who do you suppose loved him more after that?"
Simon answered, "I suppose the one for whom he canceled the larger debt."

"That's right," Jesus said.

Luke 7:41-43 NLT

Key Thought

Have you been forgiven much? Our response to being forgiven is a major factor in our Christian walk. Joy, appreciation, thanksgiving, and devoted service are the heartfelt responses to a profound realization that in Jesus Christ, God has forgiven us of everything! We have been forgiven of more than "much;" we've been forgiven of everything!

Today's Prayer

Holy and righteous God, thank you for sending Jesus to pay the price for my sin so that you could forgive me of everything. How can I ever express my appreciation appropriately? I know there is no equivalent that I can offer to you, dear Father, but I offer you my life, my love, my service, and my all in deepest appreciation. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Every time I want to give up trying to express my thanks to You I am so thankful when You remind me that You know my heart and know everything about me including how grateful I am to You for dying in my place and saving me to the uttermost and that You are preparing a place for me now so that I may be with You always. Happy tears smiling joy unspeakable full of glory!!!!

Holy is the Lord our God, He sees our heart and our desire to serve and love and obey His word. Owe nothing to anyone. Pay back what you have borrowed. Give to those in need so God will bless your life. Wonderful words coming out from God's heart.
