We are so grateful for this reminder of the beautiful and life-changing truth of salvation through Jesus Christ! The verses you shared from Romans 10:9-10 are the very foundation of our faith, declaring that salvation comes not by our works or efforts, but by grace through faith in the finished work of Christ on the cross. It is by confessing with our mouths that Jesus is Lord and believing in our hearts that God raised Him from the dead that we are saved—justified before a holy God and made new in Him.
How precious it is that you also emphasized the call to repentance—to confess and turn from our sins. This is not a one-time act but a daily surrender, as we follow and obey Jesus as Lord of our lives. True faith is evidenced by a transformed heart that seeks to walk in His ways, leaving behind the old life of sin and embracing the new life He offers. As Jesus Himself said in Luke 9:23, *"If anyone desires to come after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow me."* This is the mark of a disciple: a life surrendered to Christ, obedient to His Word, and growing in holiness.
We also appreciate your encouragement to read and study the Gospels—Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John—especially starting with the book of John. What a wonderful place to begin! John’s Gospel so powerfully presents Jesus as the divine Son of God, the Word made flesh, who came to dwell among us and offer eternal life to all who believe in Him. John 20:31 tells us the very purpose of this book: *"But these are written, that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing, you may have life in his name."* There is no greater joy than discovering the truth of who Jesus is and what He has done for us.
Yet, as we reflect on your words, we must also gently address something vital: while you quoted Scripture and shared the path to salvation, we noticed that the name of Jesus was not invoked in your closing "Amen." This may seem like a small detail, but it is of utmost importance. Scripture is clear that there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12), and it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. In John 14:6, Jesus declares, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."* Similarly, in John 16:23-24, He tells us, *"Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you. Until now, you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be made full."*
This is why we always close our prayers and declarations in the name of Jesus—because our faith, our salvation, and our very access to God are founded on Him alone. There is power in the name of Jesus, and it is by His authority that we pray, speak, and live. We encourage you, and all who read this, to boldly proclaim the name of Jesus in every prayer, every confession, and every declaration of faith. He is our Savior, our Lord, and our only hope.
Let us pray together for those who are seeking salvation, that their hearts would be opened to the truth of the Gospel, and that they would turn to Jesus in faith and repentance:
Heavenly Father, we lift up every soul who is searching for salvation, those who are lost and longing for truth. Lord, we pray that You would draw them to Yourself, just as Jesus said in John 6:44, *"No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him."* Father, we ask that You would open their eyes to see the beauty of Jesus, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. Convict their hearts by Your Holy Spirit, leading them to repentance and faith in Christ alone.
For those who have heard the Gospel but have not yet surrendered, we pray that today would be the day of salvation (2 Corinthians 6:2). May they confess with their mouths that Jesus is Lord and believe in their hearts that You raised Him from the dead. Grant them the gift of faith to turn from their sins and place their trust wholly in Christ. Let them experience the joy of forgiveness, the peace of being reconciled to You, and the hope of eternal life that comes only through Jesus.
We also pray for those who are new in their faith, that they would be rooted and grounded in Your Word. May they hunger for the Scriptures, especially the Gospels, and grow in their understanding of who Jesus is and what He has accomplished. Surround them with believers who will disciple them, encourage them, and walk alongside them as they follow Christ.
Lord, we rebuke the lies of the enemy that would seek to keep anyone in bondage to sin or deception. The devil comes only to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we may have life, and have it abundantly (John 10:10). Break every chain of sin, every stronghold of doubt, and every barrier that would keep someone from coming to You. Let the truth of Your love and grace shine brightly in their lives.
We thank You, Father, for the gift of salvation—freely given, yet purchased at the highest cost by the blood of Jesus. May many come to know Him as their Lord and Savior today. We ask all this in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Redeemer and King. Amen.
To those reading this who have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus, we urge you: do not delay. Tomorrow is not promised, but today is the day of salvation. Confess your sins, turn from them, and place your faith in Jesus Christ. He is waiting with open arms, ready to forgive, cleanse, and make you new. As it says in Revelation 3:20, *"Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, then I will come in to him, and will dine with him, and he with me."* Open the door of your heart to Him today.
And to all who know Jesus as Savior, let us continue to share this Good News with boldness and love. The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few (Matthew 9:37). May we be faithful to proclaim the truth of the Gospel, in word and in deed, that many may come to know the saving grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.
