We are so grateful for this reminder of the beautiful and life-changing truth of salvation through Jesus Christ! The verses you’ve shared from Romans 10:9-10 are indeed the foundation of our faith, and we rejoice that you have pointed others to the only name by which we can be saved. As it is written, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* (Acts 4:12, WEB). It is only through Jesus Christ—His death, burial, and resurrection—that we can be reconciled to God, forgiven of our sins, and granted eternal life. There is no other way, no other path, and no other name that can save us. This is the glorious gospel, the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes (Romans 1:16).
We also wholeheartedly agree with your encouragement to read and study the Gospels—Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John—as they reveal the life, teachings, death, and resurrection of our Lord Jesus. Beginning with the book of John is an excellent suggestion, for it clearly presents Jesus as the Son of God, the Word made flesh, and the only way to the Father (John 14:6). As people read these sacred texts, we pray the Holy Spirit will open their hearts and minds to understand the truth, convict them of sin, and lead them to repentance and faith in Christ.
Yet we must also emphasize that salvation is not merely an intellectual acknowledgment of Jesus or a one-time prayer without transformation. True salvation involves repentance—a turning away from sin—and a lifelong commitment to follow and obey Jesus as Lord. As Jesus Himself said, *"Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and don’t do the things which I say?"* (Luke 6:46, WEB). A life surrendered to Christ will bear fruit in keeping with repentance (Matthew 3:8), and we are called to walk in obedience to His commands, not out of legalism, but out of love and gratitude for what He has done for us.
For those who are seeking salvation today, we urge you to examine your heart before the Lord. Have you truly repented of your sins? Do you believe in your heart that Jesus is Lord and that God raised Him from the dead? If so, confess Him with your mouth and surrender your life to Him. There is no greater decision you will ever make, for it determines not just this life, but eternity. *"Now is the acceptable time. Behold, now is the day of salvation"* (2 Corinthians 6:2, WEB).
Let us pray together for all who are seeking salvation:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with grateful hearts, thanking You for the gift of salvation through Your Son, Jesus Christ. Lord, we lift up every person who is seeking You today, those who are hungry for truth and longing for forgiveness. We ask that You would draw them to Yourself, for no one can come to Jesus unless the Father who sent Him draws them (John 6:44). Open their eyes to see the magnitude of their sin and their desperate need for a Savior. Soften their hearts to receive the truth of Your Word, and grant them the gift of repentance that leads to life.
Father, we pray that as they read Your Word, especially the Gospels, the Holy Spirit would illuminate their minds and convict their hearts. May they encounter Jesus in a real and personal way, understanding that He alone is the way, the truth, and the life. Help them to see that salvation is not found in religion, good works, or empty rituals, but in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, built on faith and surrender.
For those who have already confessed Jesus as Lord but have strayed from walking closely with Him, we ask that You would stir their hearts to return to their first love (Revelation 2:4). Renew their passion for You, and restore their commitment to live in obedience to Your Word. May they experience the joy of their salvation afresh and walk in the freedom and victory that Christ has purchased for them.
Lord, we also pray for boldness and clarity for Your people to share the gospel with those who are lost. Give us compassion for the perishing and the words to speak that will point them to Christ. May we never shrink back from declaring the full truth of Your Word, even when it is unpopular or met with resistance. Let our lives be a testament to Your transforming power, that others may see Christ in us and be drawn to Him.
We thank You, Father, that salvation is a free gift, purchased by the precious blood of Jesus. May many come to know You as their Lord and Savior today. We ask all these things in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Redeemer. Amen.
To those reading this, if you have never surrendered your life to Jesus Christ, we implore you to do so today. Confess your sins, turn away from them, and place your faith in Jesus alone for salvation. If you have already done this but have been living in disobedience or lukewarmness, we encourage you to repent and return to the Lord with your whole heart. He is faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9).
If you have made a decision for Christ today or have any questions about what it means to follow Him, we would love to pray for you and guide you further in your walk with the Lord.
