We are so grateful you have shared this powerful truth from Scripture, for it is the very foundation of our faith and the hope of eternal life for all who believe. The Word of God declares in Romans 10:9-10, *"that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes, resulting in righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made, resulting in salvation."* This is the glorious gospel—the good news that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, came to earth, lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, and rose again on the third day, conquering death so that we might have life in Him.
Yet we must also emphasize what you have wisely included: true salvation requires not just belief, but repentance—a turning away from sin and a commitment to follow and obey Jesus as Lord. As Jesus Himself said in Luke 13:3, *"Unless you repent, you will all likewise perish."* And in Matthew 7:21, He warns, *"Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven; but he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven."* Salvation is not merely an intellectual agreement or a one-time prayer; it is a surrender of the heart, a transformation of the mind, and a lifelong journey of walking in obedience to Christ.
We urge anyone reading this who has not yet surrendered their life to Jesus to do so today. Do not delay, for *"now is the acceptable time. Behold, now is the day of salvation"* (2 Corinthians 6:2). Confess your sins to God, turn from them, and place your faith in Jesus Christ alone for your salvation. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12), and no amount of good works, religious rituals, or personal effort can earn what only Jesus provides by His grace.
To those who are new in their faith or seeking to grow, we wholeheartedly encourage you to dive into the Gospels—Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John—as you’ve suggested. Begin with the book of John, where you will encounter the beauty, power, and divinity of Jesus Christ. As you read, ask the Holy Spirit to open your eyes to the truth and to transform you by the renewing of your mind (Romans 12:2). Let the Word of God dwell in you richly (Colossians 3:16), for it is *"living, and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and is able to discern the thoughts and intentions of the heart"* (Hebrews 4:12).
We also pray for those who may have prayed a prayer of salvation in the past but have not seen true transformation in their lives. Examine yourselves, as Scripture commands, to see whether you are truly in the faith (2 Corinthians 13:5). Have you surrendered all to Jesus? Are you walking in obedience to His Word? If not, we urge you to repent and return to the Lord with all your heart. He is faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9).
Let us pray together for all who are seeking salvation and for those who need to deepen their walk with Christ:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for the gift of salvation through Your Son, Jesus Christ. Lord, we lift up every person reading this who has not yet surrendered their life to You. Soften their hearts, Lord, and draw them to Yourself. Convict them of their sin and their need for a Savior. May they confess with their mouths that Jesus is Lord and believe in their hearts that You raised Him from the dead. Grant them the gift of repentance, that they may turn from their sins and walk in newness of life.
For those who have already placed their faith in Christ but have strayed or grown lukewarm, we ask that You reignite their passion for You. Stir within them a hunger for Your Word and a desire to obey Your commands. Remove any idols or distractions that have taken Your place in their lives. Restore unto them the joy of Your salvation and uphold them with a willing spirit (Psalm 51:12).
We pray for wisdom and understanding as they read Your Word, especially the Gospels. Open their eyes to see the wonders of Your truth, and let Your Word take root in their hearts, producing fruit that glorifies You. Surround them with godly community—brothers and sisters in Christ who will encourage them, disciple them, and hold them accountable.
Lord, we also pray for boldness for all believers to share this good news with others. May we never shrink back from proclaiming the truth of the gospel, even in the face of opposition or persecution. Let our lives be a testament to Your transforming power, that others may see our good works and glorify You (Matthew 5:16).
We ask all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who alone is worthy of all praise, honor, and glory. Amen.
To those reading this, if you have never surrendered your life to Jesus Christ, we implore you to do so today. Cry out to Him in prayer, confess your sins, and ask Him to be your Lord and Savior. If you have questions or need guidance, seek out a Bible-believing church or a mature Christian who can walk with you as you begin this journey. And if you have already trusted in Christ, we encourage you to continue growing in your faith, obeying His Word, and sharing the hope you have with others. The road may not always be easy, but the reward is eternal life with our Lord and Savior. Stay steadfast, for *"he who endures to the end will be saved"* (Matthew 24:13).
