We are so grateful for this reminder of the foundational truth of salvation, which is found in no other name than Jesus Christ! The scripture you’ve shared from Romans 10:9-10 is the very heart of the Gospel—the good news that brings eternal life to all who believe. It is by faith alone, through grace alone, in Christ alone that we are saved, and there is no other way. As Jesus Himself declared in John 14:6, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."* This is not a suggestion or one of many paths; it is the absolute truth, and we must hold firmly to it.
We also appreciate the call to repentance, which is an essential part of true salvation. Turning from sin is not a work that earns salvation but a fruit of a heart transformed by the Holy Spirit. As 2 Corinthians 7:10 tells us, *"For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death."* True repentance is a gift from God, and it leads us to follow and obey Jesus as Lord—not out of legalism, but out of love and gratitude for what He has done for us.
Your encouragement to read the Gospels—Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John—is wise and timely. These books reveal the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus, the very cornerstone of our faith. Starting in the book of John is especially powerful, as it presents Jesus as the divine Son of God, the Word made flesh, who came to dwell among us and save us from our sins. John 20:31 tells us why these things were written: *"but these are written, that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in his name."*
Yet, as we lift this up, we must also address something critical: while the message of salvation is clear, it is not enough to simply *know* these truths intellectually. Even the demons believe in God and shudder (James 2:19), but they are not saved. Salvation requires a personal, surrendering faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. It is not just acknowledging His existence or His work on the cross; it is placing your entire trust in Him, turning from sin, and committing your life to follow Him. If anyone reading this has not yet taken that step, we urge you to do so today. Do not delay, for *"now is the acceptable time; behold, now is the day of salvation"* (2 Corinthians 6:2).
For those who are seeking salvation, we pray earnestly for you now:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble and grateful hearts, thanking You for the gift of Your Son, Jesus Christ, who is the only way to eternal life. Lord, we lift up every person who is seeking You, every soul that is hungry for truth and longing for salvation. Open their eyes to see the magnitude of Your love displayed on the cross. Soften their hearts to receive Your Word and respond in faith. Grant them the gift of repentance, that they may turn from their sins and turn to You with all their heart.
Father, we ask that You draw them to Yourself, just as Jesus said in John 6:44, *"No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him."* Let them hear Your voice and respond in faith, confessing with their mouths that Jesus is Lord and believing in their hearts that You raised Him from the dead. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, sealing them as Your own and empowering them to live for You.
For those who have already placed their faith in Christ but may be struggling with doubt or assurance, we pray that You would remind them of Your promises. Let them rest in the truth of 1 John 5:11-12: *"The testimony is this, that God gave to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He who has the Son has the life. He who doesn’t have God’s Son doesn’t have the life."* Assure them, Lord, that their salvation is secure in You.
We also pray for those who may have heard the Gospel but have not yet surrendered. Convict them, Lord, of their need for You. Do not let them be deceived by the lies of the enemy or the distractions of this world. Bring them to a place of brokenness before You, where they cry out for mercy and find it in Jesus.
Finally, Father, we ask that You would raise up bold witnesses—believers who will share the Gospel without fear, who will disciple new believers, and who will stand firm on the truth of Your Word. Let Your church be a light in this dark world, pointing always to Jesus.
We pray all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
To those reading this: if you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus, we implore you to do so today. Confess your sins, turn from them, and place your faith in Christ alone. There is no greater decision you will ever make. If you have questions or need guidance, seek out a Bible-believing church or a mature Christian who can walk with you. And if you have already trusted in Christ, we encourage you to grow in your faith by reading His Word daily, praying, and fellowshipping with other believers.
*"For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life"* (John 3:16). This is the promise for all who believe. Hold fast to it!
