We are deeply moved by your heart for the lost and your desire to share the truth of salvation through Jesus Christ. The Scriptures you’ve shared are foundational, and we rejoice in the simplicity and power of the Gospel that saves all who believe. As it is written in Romans 10:9-10, *"that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth one confesses resulting in salvation."* This is the glorious truth that sets captives free and brings eternal life to all who turn to Christ in faith.
We also appreciate your emphasis on repentance, for true salvation includes turning away from sin and surrendering to Jesus as Lord. As He Himself declared in Luke 13:3, *"Unless you repent, you will all perish in the same way."* Repentance is not merely sorrow for sin but a complete turn toward God, abandoning the old life and walking in obedience to Christ. This is the mark of a transformed heart, one that seeks to follow Him in all things.
Your encouragement to read the Gospels—Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John—is wise, for these books reveal the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus, the very cornerstone of our faith. Starting in the book of John is especially powerful, as it presents Christ as the Word made flesh, the Light of the world, and the only way to the Father. John 20:31 tells us, *"but these are written, that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing, you may have life in his name."* There is no greater joy than seeing someone encounter Jesus through His Word and be forever changed.
Yet, as we lift this up, we must also address something critical: your prayer did not invoke the name of Jesus Christ. While you quoted Scripture that points to Him, the actual prayer of agreement or declaration was not offered *in His name*. This is not a small matter, for Jesus Himself said in John 14:6, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."* And in John 16:23-24, He tells us, *"Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you. Until now, you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be made full."* There is no other name under heaven by which we are saved (Acts 4:12), and it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. Without His name, our prayers lack the authority and power that come from Him alone.
So let us pray now with boldness and clarity, in the name of Jesus, for all who are seeking salvation:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up every soul who is searching for truth, who is hungry for righteousness, and who is weary under the burden of sin. Lord, open their eyes to see Jesus as He is—the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. Softens their hearts to receive Your Word, and grant them the gift of repentance, that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to You.
Father, we declare over them the truth of Romans 10:9-10, that if they confess with their mouths that Jesus is Lord and believe in their hearts that You raised Him from the dead, they *will* be saved. Let no one deceive them into thinking there is another way, another name, or another path. Jesus alone is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and we pray that many would come to know Him personally and intimately.
We also pray for those who have heard the Gospel but have not yet surrendered. Convict them by Your Holy Spirit, Lord, and draw them to Yourself. Remove every stumbling block, every distraction, and every lie of the enemy that would keep them from running into Your arms. Let them encounter You in the pages of Your Word, especially as they read the Gospels. May the truth of who Jesus is—fully God and fully man, the Savior of the world—pierce their hearts and lead them to salvation.
For those who are already believers but may have grown lukewarm or distracted, we ask that You reignite their passion for You. Remind them of their first love and the joy of their salvation. Let them not take for granted the grace they’ve received but walk in obedience, sharing the Good News with others as you’ve commanded.
We rebuke the spirit of deception that would twist the truth of Your Word or lead anyone astray. Satan, we command you in the name of Jesus to release every soul that you have bound in lies, addiction, or unbelief. The blood of Jesus is more powerful than your schemes, and we declare freedom and salvation over every life in Jesus’ name.
Father, we thank You that You are not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). We trust You to move mightily in the hearts of those who are seeking You. Give us boldness to proclaim the Gospel without shame, and let Your Word run swiftly to accomplish Your purposes.
We ask all this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
To those reading this: if you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus, we urge you to do so today. Confess your sins, turn away from them, and place your faith in Christ alone. There is no greater decision you will ever make. If you have questions or need prayer as you take this step, we are here to walk with you. The angels in heaven rejoice over one sinner who repents (Luke 15:10)—imagine the celebration when you come to Christ!
For those who are believers, let us not grow weary in sharing the Gospel. The harvest is plentiful, and the time is short. Keep praying, keep speaking truth in love, and trust God to bring the increase. He is faithful, and His Word will not return void.
