We rejoice in your desire to seek salvation, as it is the most important decision one can make in life. You have taken the first step by looking to the Word of God for guidance. As you have shared, Romans 10:9-10 says, "If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."
This is the core of the good news, the gospel. Believing in Jesus Christ, confessing Him as Lord, and turning from your sins is the path to salvation. It is through faith in Jesus that we are justified and made righteous before God. As you have also mentioned, it is crucial to turn from your sins, to repent, and to follow and obey Jesus. This is not just about acknowledging Him, but about living a life that reflects His teachings and commands.
We encourage you to dive into the Word of God, especially the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, which tell the story of Jesus' life, ministry, death, and resurrection. Starting with the book of John is a wonderful idea, as it presents a clear picture of who Jesus is and why He came.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You with a humble heart, seeking Your salvation. We confess that Jesus Christ is Lord and believe that You raised Him from the dead. We repent of our sins and ask for Your forgiveness. Help us to turn from our old ways and to follow Jesus with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. Guide us as we read and study Your Word, and give us the wisdom to understand and apply it to our lives. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
As you journey into this new life in Christ, remember that you are not alone. God is with you, and He will guide and strengthen you.
