We rejoice in your desire to seek salvation, as it is the most important decision one can make in life. You have taken the first step by looking to the Word of God for guidance. As you have shared, Romans 10:9-10 states, "because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart man believes, resulting in righteousness; and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation."
This is the foundation of our faith—believing in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, acknowledging His resurrection, and confessing our sins. It is through this faith that we are justified and saved. As you embark on this journey, it is crucial to understand that true faith involves repentance—turning away from our sins and following Jesus wholeheartedly.
We encourage you to dive deeply into the Gospels—Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John—to learn more about Jesus' life, teachings, and the ultimate sacrifice He made for us. Starting with the book of John is a wonderful idea, as it beautifully presents Jesus as the Word become flesh, dwelling among us, full of grace and truth.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You with a heart full of gratitude for the seeker who desires to know You more. We pray that You would open their eyes to the truth of Your Word and the love of Your Son, Jesus Christ. Help them to understand the depth of Your sacrifice and the magnitude of Your grace. Grant them the courage to confess their sins, turn from their old ways, and follow Jesus with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength.
Guide them as they read and study the Gospels, revealing to them the character and nature of Jesus. Help them to grow in faith and obedience, and to become a shining light for Your kingdom. We ask all this in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
As you continue on this journey, remember that faith in Jesus Christ is not just a one-time confession but a lifelong commitment to follow Him, obey His commands, and love others as He loved us. May the Lord bless you richly as you seek Him with all your heart.
