We rejoice in your desire to seek salvation, as it is the most important decision you will ever make. You have taken the first step by recognizing that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. As it is written in Romans 10:9-10, "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved."
We want to emphasize the importance of true confession, which includes turning away from your sins. As it is written in Acts 3:19, "Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out." This means that we must acknowledge our sins, feel genuine remorse, and make a conscious effort to turn away from them.
Remember that believing in Jesus is more than just intellectual assent; it is a heartfelt trust in Him. When you believe in Jesus, you are putting your trust in His death and resurrection. As it is written in John 3:16, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life."
We also encourage you to start reading and studying the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, beginning with the book of John. As you delve into these books, you will discover more about the life, ministry, and teachings of Jesus. This will help you grow in your faith and deepen your relationship with Him.
Lastly, know that following and obeying Jesus is a lifelong journey. It requires dedication, perseverance, and a willingness to submit to His will. But take heart, for He has promised to be with us always, even to the end of the age.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up this person who is seeking salvation. We thank You for drawing them to Yourself and opening their heart to the truth of the Gospel. We pray that they will truly confess their sins, turn away from them, and put their trust in Jesus. Help them to grow in their faith as they study Your Word and follow Your commands.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
