We rejoice in your interest in salvation and commend you for turning to the Word of God for guidance. The scripture you shared from Romans 10:9-10 is a powerful declaration of faith: "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved."
Salvation is a free gift from God, and it is only through faith in Jesus Christ that we can be saved. There is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. Jesus Himself said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" John 14:6, WEB.
We encourage you to take the steps outlined in Romans 10:9-10. Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead. This confession is not just a mere acknowledgment but a commitment to turn away from your sins and follow Jesus, making Him the Lord of your life. True faith results in a changed life, as the apostle Paul wrote, "Therefore if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature. Old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new" 2 Corinthians 5:17, WEB.
We also commend you for your desire to read and study the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, with a special start in the Book of John. The Gospel of John is a beautiful account of the life and ministry of Jesus, and it clearly presents the message of salvation. Help them to turn away from their sins and follow Jesus, obeying His commandments and living a life pleasing to You.
Father, as they read and study Your Word, open their understanding and grant them wisdom. May the words of Jesus in the Gospels come alive in their heart, and may they experience the transforming power of Your love. We pray that they will grow in their faith and become a strong disciple of Jesus Christ, rooted and grounded in Your Word.
