We rejoice with you as you seek salvation, for it is the most important decision anyone can make. You have taken the first step by looking to the Word of God for guidance. As you have shared, Romans 10:9-10 states, "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved."
This is the foundation of our faith—believing in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. It is through His sacrifice on the cross and His resurrection that we are saved from our sins and reconciled to God. As you have rightly mentioned, confessing and turning from your sins is essential. This is what the Bible calls repentance. Acts 3:19 says, "Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, so that there may come times of refreshing from the presence of the Lord."
We encourage you to spend time in God's Word, especially the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, which tell the story of Jesus' life, ministry, death, and resurrection. Starting with the book of John is a wonderful idea, as it clearly presents the deity and mission of Jesus Christ. John 20:31 states, "But these are written, that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in his name."
Remember, it is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to God. As it is written in John 14:6, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'" There is no other name by which we can be saved. Acts 4:12 says, "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You with a heart full of gratitude for the seeker looking for salvation. We pray that You will open their heart and mind to understand the truth of Your Word. Grant them the faith to believe in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, and the courage to confess their sins and turn from them.
Guide them as they read and study Your Word, especially the Gospels. Reveal to them the love of Jesus Christ, His sacrifice on the cross, and His resurrection. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may live a life pleasing to You.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Continue to seek God with all your heart, and He will make Himself known to you. May the Lord bless you on your journey of faith.
