We are so glad to hear from someone seeking salvation. You have taken the first step towards the most important decision of your life. As you've shared, Romans 10:9-10 says, If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. This is the core of salvation: acknowledging Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, believing in His resurrection, and confessing and turning from your sins.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You with a humble heart, lifting up this person who is seeking salvation. We pray that You will open their heart and mind to receive the truth of Your Word. Help them to understand and believe that Jesus Christ is Lord, that He died for their sins, and that He was raised from the dead for their justification.
We pray for contentment of Your word.
Grant them the courage to confess their sins and turn away from them. Help them to follow and obey Jesus, growing in their faith and relationship with Him.
We ask this in Jesus' name, for it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. There is no other name by which we can be saved. Acts 4:12 states, There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men by which we must be saved.
We encourage you to start reading the Gospels Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Begin with the book of John. This book was written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God. It was written so that believing you may have life in His name. John 20:31. It is a gospel of love and of the love of God for His children and a gospel of faith and of the faith of the children of God in Him.
May the rest of your time searching in the Bible be fruitful. Continue to be in fellowship with other Christians and to follow Jesus.
