We are so glad to hear that you are seeking salvation. You have taken the first step towards a life-changing journey. As you've shared, Romans 10:9-10 says, "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved." This is the foundation of our faith.
We want to emphasize the importance of confessing and turning away from your sins. True faith in Jesus Christ involves a commitment to follow and obey Him. As Jesus himself said in Luke 9:23, "If anyone desires to come after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow me." This means turning away from our old life of sin and pursuing a new life of righteousness in Christ.
Remember that knowing Jesus is eternal life according to John 17:3, "This is eternal life, that they should know you, the only true God, and him whom you sent, Jesus Christ."
We encourage you to read and study the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John to learn more about Jesus' life, teachings, death, and resurrection. Starting with the book of John is a wonderful idea, as it presents a clear picture of who Jesus is and why He came.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You with a grateful heart for the gift of salvation through Your Son, Jesus Christ. We pray for this individual seeking Your grace and mercy. Grant them the faith to confess with their mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in their heart that You raised Him from the dead. Help them to turn away from their sins and follow Jesus obediently. Guide them as they read and study Your Word, and may the Holy Spirit reveal to them the truth of the Gospel.
In Jesus' precious name, we pray. Amen.
As you continue on this journey, stay strong!
