We rejoice in your desire to seek salvation, as it is the most important decision anyone can make. You have taken the first step by looking to the Word of God for guidance. As you have shared, Romans 10:9-10 states, If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. This is the foundation of our faith. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Also, there is no other name by which we can be saved.
Confessing and turning from your sins is an essential part of this process. It is repentance from your old life and a commitment to follow and obey Jesus. As Acts 3:19 (WEB) says, Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, so that there may come times of refreshing from the presence of the Lord.
We encourage you to dive deeply into the Gospels of the Bible. Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, particularly starting with the book of John. This will help you understand the life, ministry, and teachings of Jesus Christ. As you read, pray for the Holy Spirit to guide your understanding and apply the Word to your life. Jesus said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You with a heart full of gratitude for the seeker who desires salvation. We pray that You open their heart and mind to receive the truth of Your Word. Help them to confess with their mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in their heart that You raised Him from the dead. Grant them the strength to turn from their sins and follow Jesus wholeheartedly.
Guide them as they read and study the Gospels, and may the Holy Spirit illuminate Your Word to them. Help them to understand the depth of Your love and the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross for their sins. May they find true peace, joy, and salvation in Jesus Christ.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to continue seeking God and fellowship with other believers. You can also look for a Bible believing church to help you grow in your Christian walk and journey.
