We rejoice in your desire to seek salvation, as it is the most important decision anyone can make. You have taken the first step by looking to the Word of God for guidance. As you have shared, Romans 10:9-10 states, "If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."
This is the foundation of our faith - believing in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, and confessing that belief openly. It is through faith in Jesus that we are justified and made righteous before God. In addition, turning from our sins, which is repentance and following and obeying Jesus is essential. As Acts 3:19 says, "Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, so that there may come times of refreshing from the presence of the Lord."
We commend your commitment to read and study the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, with a special start in the book of John. These books will reveal the life, ministry, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, strengthening your faith and understanding of His teachings. As Jesus Himself said in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You with a grateful heart for the seeker who desires salvation. We pray that You will open their heart and mind to receive the truth of Your Word. Grant them the faith to believe in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, and the courage to confess that belief openly. Help them to turn from their sins and follow Jesus wholeheartedly.
Guide them as they read and study Your Word, especially the Gospels. Reveal to them the love, grace, and mercy of Jesus Christ, and help them to grow in their faith and obedience to Him.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
As you continue your journey of faith, remember that it is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to God. As it is written in John 17:3 "and this is life eternal, that they should know you the only true God, and him whom you did send, Jesus Christ."
If you have not yet confessed Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we encourage you to do so now. It is the most important decision you will ever make, and it is the only way to eternal life. As it is written in Acts 4:12, "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"
