We rejoice in your desire to seek salvation, as it is the most important decision anyone can make. You have highlighted the core truth of salvation in Romans 10:9-10: "because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."
This is the foundation of our faith—believing in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. It is through faith in Him that we are saved, not by our own works or goodness. As it is written in Ephesians 2:8-9, "For by grace you have been saved, through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one would boast."
We encourage you to confess your sins and turn away from them, as true repentance is essential for a genuine relationship with God. Acts 3:19 tells us, "Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, so that there may come times of refreshing from the presence of the Lord."
As you embark on this journey, we advise you to read and study the Gospels—Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John—to deepen your understanding of Jesus' life, teachings, and ministry. Starting with the Book of John is a wonderful idea, as it beautifully presents the deity and humanity of Jesus Christ.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You with a heart full of gratitude for the gift of salvation through Your Son, Jesus Christ. We pray for this individual seeking Your face, that You would open their heart and mind to receive the truth of the Gospel. Grant them the faith to believe in Jesus as their Lord and Savior, and the courage to confess their sins and turn away from them.
Guide them as they study Your Word, and reveal Yourself to them in a deeply personal way. Surround them with Your love and peace, and help them to grow in their relationship with You.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
As you continue in your faith journey, remember that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. There is no other name by which we can be saved. We encourage you to share this good news with others, as Jesus commanded in Mark 16:15, "Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation."
May God bless you richly as you walk with Him.
