Servant of All
Already put prayer request on here for my ###-year-old dad because he is to undergo cardiac catheterization this coming Thursday. Now I just got text from my baby sis telling me he is in the ER because of a low blood count. Please pray in Jesus's name he is okay and that they can still go through with his procedure as planned. Please also pray he makes it to dinner tomorrow. My niece wanted to see him so we were going to surprise him with her and her two kids, his great grandchildren, being there. I am just shattered. Hearts are fixable in this day and age, but what if it's something else? I mean, I'm assuming this was pre-procedure blood work. What abnormality would be bad enough to impel his docs to send him to the ER? Also please in Jesus's name pray my phone starts charging. Brand new phone. Brand new charger. My phone wouldn't charge so I changed the wire. Now getting "high moisture" reading. Moisture from WHERE, I ask. I have an appointment for jaw orthotic appointment at two. I have cleaning and cooking to do. I am mega-worried about my dad and need this phone for updates. Don't have TIME to deal with a phone that should be working just fine.

We lift your heart before the Father in this moment of deep worry and frustration, knowing that He cares for every detail of your life—both the weighty burdens and the seemingly small annoyances that pile up when we are already overwhelmed. Your love for your father is evident, and we join you in crying out to the Lord for his protection, healing, and strength. The uncertainty of his low blood count and the urgency of the ER visit can stir up fear, but we must cling to the truth that God holds your father’s heart—both physically and spiritually—in His hands. He is the Great Physician, the One who knit your dad together in his mother’s womb and who knows the number of his days. While it is wise to prepare for the cardiac procedure and trust the medical team, we must ultimately place our trust in the Lord, who is sovereign over every test result, every decision the doctors make, and every breath your father takes.

The Scripture reminds us in Psalm 34:18-19, *"Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but Yahweh delivers him out of them all."* Your heart is broken, and your spirit feels crushed under the weight of "what ifs," but God is near to you in this. He sees your tears, hears your cries, and is not distant in this trial. We also take comfort in Isaiah 41:10, where the Lord says, *"Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness."* This is His promise to you today—He will strengthen you, help you, and uphold you as you walk through this valley.

As for the concerns about your father’s procedure, we pray that the Lord would stabilize his blood counts and grant the doctors wisdom to address whatever underlying issue has arisen. If there is an abnormality, we ask that it would be something easily treatable and not a hindrance to the planned catheterization. We also lift up the sweet desire of your niece to see her grandfather and for the family to gather around him in love. What a precious picture of generational blessing! We pray that the Lord would grant your father the strength and stability to enjoy that dinner tomorrow, that it would be a time of joy and encouragement for him, and that the presence of his great-grandchildren would fill his heart with hope. Proverbs 17:22 tells us, *"A cheerful heart makes good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones."* May this time with family be medicine to his soul.

Now, let us address the frustration with your phone. It’s easy to feel as though these "small" inconveniences are trivial compared to the larger crisis at hand, but even these things can feel like the last straw when we’re already stretched thin. We pray that the Lord would resolve this issue quickly—whether by drying out any unseen moisture, revealing a simple fix, or providing an alternative way for you to stay connected with your family during this time. We ask that He would calm your spirit even in this, reminding you that He is aware of every need, great and small. Philippians 4:6-7 encourages us, *"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."* Even your phone charging is not too small for Him to care about.

Lastly, we want to gently remind you of the power of the name in which you’ve asked for prayer—Jesus. There is no other name under heaven by which we are saved, and it is only through Him that we can boldly approach the throne of grace. Your faith in calling upon His name is a testament to your trust in Him, and we encourage you to continue to lift every concern to Him, for He is faithful. If the worries threaten to overwhelm you, cast them upon Him, for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). And when the fear of the unknown creeps in, remember the words of Jesus in John 14:27: *"Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, do I give to you. Don’t let your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful."*

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You today with hearts heavy for our sister and her father. Lord, You are the God who heals, the God who sustains, and the God who holds all things together by the power of Your word. We ask that You would stretch out Your hand over her father right now in that ER. Stabilize his blood counts, Lord, and reveal to the doctors exactly what needs to be done. Give them wisdom, steady hands, and clear minds as they care for him. If there is any underlying issue causing this drop in his counts, we pray that it would be something easily managed and not a hindrance to his upcoming procedure. Father, we ask that You would prepare his body for the catheterization on Thursday, that it would go smoothly, and that it would bring the healing and clarity they are seeking.

Lord, we also lift up the desire of this family to gather around their father tomorrow. What a beautiful picture of Your design for family—generations loving one another and finding joy in each other’s presence. We pray that You would grant him the strength to be there, that he would feel Your peace and love through his family, and that this time would be a blessing to him. Comfort his heart, Lord, and let him see Your goodness in the faces of his great-grandchildren.

Father, we ask that You would also tend to the practical needs weighing on our sister. The frustration with her phone feels like one more thing in a day already filled with worry. We pray that You would resolve this issue quickly, Lord, whether by fixing the phone or providing another way for her to stay connected. Give her the time and energy she needs to prepare for her appointment and to care for her home, and help her to release the things she cannot control into Your hands.

Most of all, Lord, we pray for Your peace to guard her heart and mind in Christ Jesus. When fear rises, remind her that You are near. When the "what ifs" threaten to overwhelm her, anchor her in the truth that You are good, You are sovereign, and You love her father even more than she does. Strengthen her faith, Lord, and let her rest in the assurance that You are working all things together for good, even when we cannot see how.

We pray all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus, our Healer, our Provider, and our Peace. Amen.

We're right here with you, sister. We've been praying since we heard your cry. We're claiming Psalm 147:3 over your dad right now, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." We're asking God to heal your dad's blood count, to give the doctors wisdom, and to grant your family a precious time together tomorrow. And hey, we're also asking God to sort out that phone issue for you, because we know it's been a hassle. Keep trusting, keep praying, and know that we're standing with you. In Jesus' name, we pray.
