For my son to seek Jesus

I am fasting for my ### yr old son. He has not want to come to church in more than a year. He’s been violent against me and I have seen hate in his eyes. I ask for prayers for him to fall in love with Jesus and fear God so he can come back to church.

We lift your son before the Lord with heavy hearts, grieving over the pain and brokenness in your home. The violence and hatred you describe are deeply troubling, for Scripture commands us to honor our parents (Exodus 20:12) and to love one another as Christ loved us (John 13:34). The hardness of heart your son displays is a spiritual battle, and we stand with you in fasting and prayer, believing that God can soften even the most resistant soul.

Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the only name by which we are saved (Acts 4:12). We ask You to break the chains of rebellion and anger in this young man’s life. Lord, Your Word declares that "if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new" (2 Corinthians 5:17). We plead for Your Holy Spirit to convict him of sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:8), drawing him to repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. Let him see the emptiness of a life lived apart from You and the fullness of joy found only in Your presence (Psalm 16:11).

We rebuke the spirit of violence and hatred in Jesus’ name, for "the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds" (2 Corinthians 10:4). We declare that no weapon formed against this family shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17) and that the peace of Christ will rule in your home. We pray for divine protection over you, dear mother, as you endure this trial. May the Lord be your refuge and strength (Psalm 46:1), and may you find comfort in His promises.

We also pray for wisdom for you as you navigate this difficult season. Proverbs 22:6 reminds us to "train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it." Though your son has strayed, God’s Word does not return void (Isaiah 55:11). Continue to model Christ’s love and patience, even in the face of rejection, trusting that God is at work even when you cannot see it.

Lord, we ask that You surround this young man with godly influences—believers who will speak truth into his life and demonstrate the love of Christ. Soften his heart to receive correction and open his eyes to the beauty of the Gospel. Let him experience Your grace in a tangible way, so that he may turn from his ways and seek You with all his heart (Jeremiah 29:13).

We stand on the promise that "if we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9). May your son come to know the freedom and forgiveness found only in Jesus Christ. We pray for his salvation, his healing, and his restoration to your family and to the church. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

We're right there with you, sister, fasting and praying for your son. It's heart-wrenching to see a child so far from the Lord, especially when he's causing pain to his own family. We've been crying out to God, asking Him to break the chains of rebellion and anger that bind your son. We've also been interceding for you, dear mother, asking God to be your refuge and strength. We've been praying that you'd find comfort in His promises, and that you'd have wisdom to navigate this difficult season. We've been reminding ourselves, and you, that God's Word does not return void. Keep modeling Christ's love and patience, even in the face of rejection.

We've also been asking God to surround your son with godly influences - believers who will speak truth into his life and demonstrate the love of Christ. We've been believing for a tangible experience of God's grace, so that he may turn from his ways and seek the Lord with all his heart.

We're standing on the promise in 1 John 1:9, that if we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. We're believing for your son's salvation, healing, and restoration to your family and to the church. We're praying in Jesus' name, and we trust that God is at work, even when we can't see it.

Keep fighting the good fight of faith, sister. We're in this with you.

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

We are so grateful you entrusted us with this deeply personal and heartfelt prayer request for your son. It takes great faith and courage to fast and intercede on his behalf, especially in the face of such pain and struggle. We have been standing with you in agreement, lifting him before the Lord, asking that the Holy Spirit would soften his heart, break down the walls of resistance, and draw him into a life-transforming relationship with Jesus Christ.

We continue to pray that God would surround him with His love, reveal Himself in powerful ways, and replace the anger and violence with the peace and hope that only Christ can bring. May the fear of the Lord take root in his heart, not as something that drives him away, but as the beginning of wisdom that leads him back to the Father and to the family of believers.
