For my drug addicted friend###

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Please keep ### in your prayers. He lost his father five days ago, and the grief has hit him very hard. He is struggling with heavy drug and alcohol use and is in deep denial about the seriousness of it. Since his dad passed, things have gotten worse, and I am very concerned for his safety and well-being. He has also lost an important relationship because of his addiction, and instead of facing the pain, he often misinterprets situations, twists conversations, and believes others are against him. This has led to toxic and unhealthy behavior, but he does not see that he needs help. Please pray also for his best friend, the one person who might be able to reach him. Pray that he will see clearly through the lies and manipulations, have courage, wisdom, and compassion, and take the right action to help ###. Pray urgently for ###’s safety, his heart and mind, freedom from addiction, and the willingness to accept help. I am truly scared for him and trusting God to intervene where I cannot. Thank you. In Jesus name, amen.

We lift up your dear friend before the throne of grace, grieving with you over the loss of his father and the deep struggles he now faces. The pain of loss can indeed open wounds that lead to desperate choices, and we recognize the urgency of this situation. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we might have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We rebuke the spirit of addiction and denial in the mighty name of Jesus, declaring that no weapon formed against him shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17).

Father God, we cry out for this precious soul, asking You to break the chains of bondage that grip him. Your Word declares that if the Son sets him free, he will be free indeed (John 8:36). We pray for a supernatural intervention—let Your Holy Spirit convict him of the danger he is in and the destruction his choices are bringing. Soften his heart, Lord, and open his eyes to see the truth about his condition. Remove the scales of denial and help him to recognize his need for You and for the help of those who love him.

We also lift up his best friend, the one who may still have influence in his life. Lord, grant this friend wisdom, discernment, and courage. Give him the words to speak truth in love, even when it is difficult, and the strength to stand firm when met with resistance. Let him be a vessel of Your peace and a reflection of Your grace, showing compassion without enabling the destructive behavior. May he be guided by Your Spirit to take the right actions, whether that means setting boundaries, seeking professional help, or simply being a consistent presence in this dark time.

We pray for protection over your friend, Lord. Guard his body from the physical harm of addiction, his mind from the lies of the enemy, and his spirit from despair. Surround him with people who will speak life and truth into him, even when he resists. Let him feel the weight of Your love and the hope that is found only in You. We ask that You would restore what has been broken—his health, his relationships, and his faith. Let him turn to You, the God of all comfort, who heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds (Psalm 147:3).

We also want to gently address the reality of sin in this situation. Addiction is often a misguided attempt to fill a void that only God can satisfy. The Bible warns us that the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 6:23). We pray that your friend would come to a place of repentance, turning away from the things that are destroying him and turning toward the One who offers forgiveness, redemption, and new life. If he has not yet surrendered his life to Jesus, we ask that You draw him to Yourself, that he may know the power of the cross and the hope of salvation.

Finally, we pray for you, dear one, as you carry this burden. It is not easy to watch someone you love spiral into darkness, but we take comfort in knowing that You are the God who sees and hears. Strengthen this one who prays, Lord, and fill them with Your peace. Remind them that their trust in You is not in vain, for You are faithful to work all things together for good for those who love You (Romans 8:28). Let them find rest in Your promises and courage in Your presence.

We declare healing, restoration, and freedom over this situation, trusting that nothing is too hard for You. In the name of Jesus, the name above every name, we pray. Amen.

We're standing with you, dear friend, as you intercede for your ### friend who's grappling with the loss of his father. It's heart-wrenching to see him spiraling, but we know that God is a God of miracles and He's not done with him yet. Let's cling to these promises together:

"For I am the Lord, your healer" (Exodus 15:26). We declare healing over your friend's body, mind, and spirit. We ask that God would begin to restore his health, both physically and mentally, as he surrenders his life to You.

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28). We pray that your friend would find rest in Jesus, that he would come to understand the depth of Your love for him, and that this knowledge would bring him to a place of surrender.

"For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline" (2 Timothy 1:7). We ask that God would grant courage to your friend's best friend, that he would have the strength and wisdom to speak truth in love, even when it's difficult. We pray that he would be a beacon of hope and a reflection of Your grace in this dark time.

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come" (2 Corinthians 5:17). We believe in the power of transformation, dear friend. We trust that God can take the brokenness and pain your friend is experiencing and turn it into a story of redemption and hope.

Let's continue to lift him up in prayer, trusting in God's unfailing love and faithfulness. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy.

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing with you in prayer for your dear friend during this incredibly difficult time. It’s clear how deeply you care for him, and we have lifted him before the Lord with urgency, asking for His divine intervention. We prayed for his safety, for the chains of addiction to be broken, and for his heart to be softened to receive the help he so desperately needs. We also prayed for his best friend—that God would grant wisdom, courage, and clarity to reach him with truth and love.

Grief can be a heavy burden, especially when it’s compounded by addiction and denial. We asked the Holy Spirit to pierce through the lies he’s believing and to reveal the love and hope that only Christ can offer. We continue to trust that God is at work, even when we can’t see it, and we stand in agreement with you that He will move mightily in this situation.

If you’ve seen any glimmers of hope or answers to prayer—no matter how small—we would love to hear about them so we can praise God together. If the struggle persists, please don’t hesitate to post this request again so we can keep lifting him up. We believe in the power of persistent prayer and the faithfulness of our Heavenly Father.

May the Lord surround you with His peace as you wait on Him, and may He strengthen your friend’s heart to turn toward healing and restoration. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
