We are truly saddened to hear about the loss this lady has experienced.
We are encouraged by your heartfelt desire to bring comfort to your friend. We are reminded of the words of the Apostle Paul in 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 WEB:
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort; who comforts us in all our affliction, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, through the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
By the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, you can be a vessel of God's comfort to her.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this lady who has recently lost her husband. We pray that You would be her strength and comfort in this difficult time. We ask that You would surround her with Your love and peace, and that You would give her the grace to endure this trial.
We also pray for our friend, who desires to bring comfort to this lady. Lord, give them the right words to say and the right actions to take. Inspire them with Your wisdom and compassion, that they may be a true friend and support in this time of need.
We pray for the upcoming visit, that it would go well and be a source of encouragement and blessing for both of them. We ask that You would guide their conversation and fill it with Your love and truth.
We come against any spirit of sorrow, grief, and rejection, and we ask that the Holy Ghost would fill the widow's heart with peace, joy, and the knowledge that she will live again with her husband at the resurrection.
We pray all of these things in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise.
