We stand with you in this deep and painful struggle, and we lift you up before the Lord, knowing that He is the God of all comfort who heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. Your request is heavy with the weight of years of emotional and financial abuse, manipulation, and the lingering scars of words and actions that were never yours to bear. Yet we see in you a heart that is turning to Jesus, seeking not just relief but true restoration—a reversal of the enemy’s work in your life. This is a righteous desire, and we join you in claiming victory over these wounds in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
The Scripture tells us in **Psalm 147:3**, *"He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds."* And in **Isaiah 61:1-3**, the Lord declares that He has sent His Spirit *"to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound; to proclaim the year of Yahweh’s favor... to comfort all who mourn; to appoint to those who mourn in Zion, to give to them a garland for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness."* This is your promise, and we claim it over you now. The Lord does not leave you in ashes—He crowns you with beauty, replaces your mourning with joy, and lifts the heaviness from your spirit.
You have already taken a critical step by choosing forgiveness, even though the effects linger. Forgiveness does not mean what was done to you was right or just—it means you are releasing the debt to God, trusting Him to be your Vindicator. **Romans 12:19** reminds us, *"Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, 'Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.'"* This is not a passive act but an active surrender to His justice and healing. The lingering pain you feel is real, but it is not the end of your story. The Lord is faithful to complete the work He has begun in you (**Philippians 1:6**).
As for the financial abuse and bankruptcy, we rebuke the spirit of greed and manipulation that sought to steal your future. The enemy intended this for harm, but God will use it for good (**Genesis 50:20**). He is your Provider, and He will restore what the locusts have eaten (**Joel 2:25-26**). We pray that the Lord will open doors for you to walk in financial wisdom and independence, breaking every generational curse of addiction and poor stewardship. You are not defined by your past or your parents’ sins—you are a new creation in Christ (**2 Corinthians 5:17**), and your future is secure in Him.
You’ve also asked for a trained professional to help you sort through this "gunk," and we agree with you in prayer for godly, wise counsel. **Proverbs 11:14** tells us, *"Where there is no wise guidance, the nation falls, but in the multitude of counselors there is safety."* We ask the Lord to lead you to a counselor who is grounded in Scripture, filled with the Holy Spirit, and equipped to walk with you through this healing process. Be discerning, and do not settle for secular wisdom alone—seek someone who will point you to Christ, the ultimate Healer.
However, we must also gently remind you that while professional help can be a tool, your ultimate healing comes from the Lord. **Jeremiah 17:14** declares, *"Heal me, O Yahweh, and I will be healed; save me, and I will be saved: for you are my praise."* Do not place your hope in man but in God, who can do exceedingly abundantly above all we ask or think (**Ephesians 3:20**). Combine counseling with prayer, Scripture meditation, and fellowship with believers who can speak life into you.
Lastly, we want to address the rehearsing of hurts. This is a tactic of the enemy to keep you bound. **2 Corinthians 10:5** commands us to *"bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ."* When those painful memories rise up, we encourage you to *replace* them with the truth of God’s Word. Speak aloud Scriptures over yourself, such as:
- *"I am fearfully and wonderfully made"* (**Psalm 139:14**).
- *"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted"* (**Psalm 34:18**).
- *"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me"* (**Philippians 4:13**).
- *"No weapon formed against me shall prosper"* (**Isaiah 54:17**).
Break the cycle of nursing these wounds by declaring God’s promises over your life instead. The more you fill your mind with His truth, the less room there will be for the lies of the past.

**Our Prayer for You:**
Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of Your beloved child, who has carried the weight of emotional wounds, financial abuse, and generational sin for far too long. Lord, You see the depths of their pain—the words that cut like swords, the manipulation that stole their peace, and the financial ruin that threatened their future. But we declare that *You* are the God who redeems, restores, and reverses the curses of the enemy.
Father, we ask for Your healing touch to mend every broken place in their heart. Where negative words have taken root, uproot them by Your truth. Where manipulation has left scars, cover them with Your balm of Gilead. Where financial abuse has caused shame or fear, replace it with Your provision and wisdom. Break every chain of generational sin—addiction, greed, and control—and set this child free to walk in the fullness of their identity in Christ.
Lord, lead them to a counselor who is grounded in Your Word, filled with Your Spirit, and equipped to guide them through this healing journey. Give them discernment to recognize Your voice above all others. Surround them with believers who will speak life, truth, and encouragement into their spirit.
We rebuke the enemy’s lies that have kept them bound to the past. By the power of the blood of Jesus, we break every stronghold of rehearsing hurts, bitterness, and unforgiveness. Fill their mouth with Your praises and their mind with Your promises. Let them walk in the freedom for which Christ has set them free (**Galatians 5:1**).
Father, restore what has been stolen—financially, emotionally, and spiritually. Open doors of opportunity, wisdom, and favor. Let this season be a testament to Your redemption, where ashes become beauty, mourning turns to joy, and heaviness is replaced with praise.
We thank You, Lord, that You are making all things new. Strengthen them day by day, and let them feel Your presence as a tangible comfort. May they know, beyond any doubt, that they are loved, valued, and cherished by You.
In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Healer and Redeemer, we pray. Amen.
