We come before the Lord with you in this time of need, lifting up your request for the approval of your FMLA documentation and for the peace that surpasses all understanding to guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus. It is clear that this situation is weighing heavily on you, and we want to remind you that our Heavenly Father cares deeply about every detail of your life. He knows your needs before you even ask, and He is faithful to provide.
The anxiety you are experiencing is something the Lord addresses directly in His Word. Jesus tells us in Matthew 6:25-34, *"Therefore I tell you, don’t be anxious for your life: what you will eat, or what you will drink; nor yet for your body, what you will wear. Isn’t life more than food, and the body more than clothing? See the birds of the sky, that they don’t sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns. Your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore don’t be anxious for tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Each day’s own evil is sufficient."* Your passion and your future are in His hands, and He will guide you as you trust in Him.
We also want to encourage you with Philippians 4:6-7, which says, *"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."* This is not just a suggestion—it is a command and a promise. When we bring our worries to God in prayer, He replaces them with His peace. That doesn’t mean the circumstances will instantly change, but it does mean that your heart can rest in Him regardless of what happens.
As for your FMLA approval, we pray that the Lord would move in this situation. Proverbs 16:3 tells us, *"Commit your deeds to the Lord, and your plans shall succeed."* We ask that God would open the doors that need to be opened and soften the hearts of those who are reviewing your documentation. If there is anything you need to do on your end—double-checking details, following up appropriately, or seeking wise counsel—we pray the Lord would give you clarity and direction.
At the same time, we must also remind you that your ultimate security is not in your job, but in Christ alone. If this situation does not go as you hope, remember that God is still good, and He has a plan for you. Jeremiah 29:11 says, *"For I know the plans that I have for you,’ says the Lord, ‘plans for peace, and not for evil, to give you hope and a future."* Even if the path forward feels uncertain, He is already there, preparing the way.
Now, let us pray together for you:
Heavenly Father, we lift up our brother/sister to You, asking for Your divine intervention in the approval of their FMLA documentation. Lord, You know the urgency of this situation and how it impacts their ability to provide and to walk in the calling You have placed on their life. We ask that You would move in the hearts of those who have authority over this decision, granting favor and approval according to Your will. Remove any obstacles, whether they be bureaucratic delays, oversights, or resistance, and let Your perfect plan prevail.
We also pray against the spirit of anxiety that has taken hold. Lord, You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We rebuke this anxiety in the name of Jesus and command it to leave. Fill our brother/sister with Your peace, which transcends all understanding. Let them rest in the knowledge that You are sovereign over every detail of their life—their job, their passion, and their future.
Father, we ask that You would guide them clearly as they seek to follow their passion. Open doors that no one can shut and close doors that are not meant for them. Give them wisdom to take the right steps and the courage to trust You even when the path is unclear. Remind them that their worth and security are found in You alone, not in their circumstances.
We thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayers. We trust that You are working all things together for good, even when we cannot see it. Strengthen their faith, Lord, and let them walk in the confidence that comes from knowing You are with them always. In the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.
Finally, we encourage you to keep your eyes fixed on Jesus through this season. Spend time in His Word daily, and let it be a lamp to your feet and a light to your path (Psalm 119:105). Surround yourself with believers who can pray with you and speak life into your situation. And remember, fear is not from the Lord—trust is. He is with you, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6). Walk in that truth, and let His peace rule in your heart.
