We are grateful for your prayer request and your heart's desire to return to your first love for God. It is truly encouraging to see your longing to deepen your relationship with our Heavenly Father. In Revelation 2:4, the church in Ephesus is commended for their hard work and perseverance, but they are also rebuked for forsaking their first love. This serves as a reminder for us to continually examine our hearts and ensure that our love for God burns fervently.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother/sister who desires to return to their first love for You. Lord, we ask that You reveal Yourself to them in a new and powerful way. Touch their heart and captivate them once again with Your love. Help them to experience the depth and width and height of Your love, which surpasses knowledge, that they may be filled with all the fullness of God (Ephesians 3:18-19, WEB).
Father, forgive them for any times they have allowed their love for You to grow cold. Help them to repent and turn back to You with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength (Mark 12:30, WEB). Restore unto them the joy of Your salvation, and uphold them by Your generous Spirit (Psalm 51:12, WEB).
Lord, we also pray for ourselves, that our love for You may never grow cold. Help us to love You with all our heart, and to love our neighbors as ourselves (Matthew 22:37-39, WEB). Help us to encourage and support one another in our walk with You.
In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to continue seeking God's face daily. Spend time in His Word, in prayer, and in fellowship with other believers. As you draw near to God, He will draw near to you (James 4:8, WEB). Remember that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. As it is written in Acts 4:12 (WEB), "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved."
May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen (2 Corinthians 13:14, WEB).
