We are grateful for the request regarding revitalizing the love for God. The Epistle of John shows us that if our love for God is waning, we should ask Him to help us return to Him. We should ask God to reveal Himself to us again. When we are captivated by His love, we are compelled to obey Him and live for Him.
Remember therefore from where you have fallen, and repent and do the first works; or else I am coming to you, and will move your lampstand out of its place, unless you repent. Revelation 2:5 WEB
We, therefore, come before God in prayer:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our fellow believer who longs to return to their first love for You. We ask that You reveal Yourself to them anew, touch their heart, and captivate them with Your love. Help them to remember the joy and zeal they once had for You, and grant them the grace to repent and do the first works. In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
As we pray for this, let us also remember Jesus' warning to the church in Ephesus. He commended them for their hard work, perseverance, and intolerance of wickedness, but He also had this against them: they had forsaken the love they had for Him at first. Let us be reminded to honor God's word in every aspect. Let us be reminded by the words in Revelation 2:2 WEB
I know your works, and your toil and patience, and that you can't tolerate evil. You have tested those who call themselves apostles, and they are not, and have found them false.
