We are grateful for your heartfelt request and your desire to return to your first love for God. It is truly encouraging to see your longing to deepen your relationship with Him. In Revelation 2:4, the church in Ephesus is commended for their hard work and perseverance, but they are also rebuked for forsaking their first love. This serves as a reminder for us to continually seek and prioritize our love for God above all else.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our fellow believer who desires to return to their first love for You. Lord, we ask that You reveal Yourself to them in a powerful and personal way. Touch their heart, Lord, and captivate them once again with Your love. Help them to experience the depth and breadth of Your love in a way that transcends all understanding.
Father, we pray that You would forgive them for any times they may have strayed or allowed other things to take Your place in their heart. Renew their passion for You and Your Word. Help them to see You with fresh eyes and a renewed spirit.
Lord, we also pray for ourselves, that we would continually examine our own hearts and ensure that You are our first love. Help us to never grow cold or distant from You. Draw us closer to You each day, and help us to love You with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to spend time in God's Word, seeking Him with all your heart. Remember the words of Jeremiah 29:13, You will seek me, and find me, when you search for me with all your heart. Also, draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners. Purify your hearts, you double-minded (James 4:8).
As you pursue God, be assured that He is already pursuing you. He longs for a deep and intimate relationship with you. May God bless you as you seek Him, and may He reward you richly for your desire to love Him more.
