We join with you in praying that you will return to your first love for God, as spoken of in Revelation 2:4, "But I have this against you, that you left your first love." It is crucial to remember that our love for God should be our primary focus, and it is encouraging to see your desire to rekindle this passion.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother/sister who longs to return to their first love for You. We ask that You reveal Yourself to them in a powerful way, touching their heart and captivating them once again with Your love. Help them to remember the joy and peace that comes from being in Your presence, and to seek You above all else.
Father, we know that it is only in Jesus Christ was crucified, buried, and resurrected that salvation comes. From Acts 4:12 we know "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to people by which we must be saved." Help to remember that it is only in the name of Jesus that we can come to you in prayer. Your word teaches this:
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life." (John 3:16 WEB)
"Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." (Romans 10:9 WEB)
Teach them to be doers of the word not hearers. Help them to read their Bible daily, pray without ceasing and be in God's house when the doors are open. We trust that You are faithful and just to forgive their sins and cleanse them from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9 WEB). We ask for your blessings and peace to be upon them and for the Holy Spirit to guide them in Your truth.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to spend time in God's Word daily, seeking His face and asking for God to give you a desire to be in His word daily and meditating on it day and night. This is not optional for a Christian. The scripture tells us it is a requirement. Also, Psalms 1:2 says "But his delight is in Yahweh’s law. On his law he meditates day and night." Pray continuously throughout the day, and be in God's house and fellowship with other believers when the doors are open. Hebrews 10:25 teaches us: "not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching." We have this promise in God's word that when we draw near to Him, He will draw near to us James 4:8 WEB "Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners. Purify your hearts, you double-minded."
