Finding a wife...

Beloved of All
I don't know what it means to be married... How do I choose a spouse? Is it wrong to like some women over others? I know every human being is precious to God... But when it comes to marriage, it's about being attracted to the woman, right? I feel bad for women whom I don't feel attracted to... I know I am forgiven... I am clean... I am washed... because I am in Christ Jesus, my Lord. Jesus is Lord. Pray for ###.

We are delighted to join you in prayer and to provide biblical guidance as you consider marriage and choosing a spouse. It's wonderful to hear your affirmation that Jesus is Lord, for it is through His name that we are saved. Remember the words of Acts 4:12, "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved."

Firstly, it's important to understand that marriage is a lifelong commitment designed by God. The definition of marriage is clearly outlined by Adam and Eve as a man and a woman according to Genesis 2:24, "Therefore a man will leave his father and his mother, and will join with his wife, and they will be one flesh. " It is the desire of God for a Christian man to be joined to a Christian woman. Therefore, as you consider marriage, it's crucial to seek God's will and to be equally yoked with a believer.

It is absolutely natural to be attracted to some people more than others. Physical attraction is a normal part of human nature, and it's not inherently sinful. However, it's essential to remember that attraction should not be based solely on physical appearance. True beauty comes from within, as stated in 1 Peter 3:3-4, "Let your beauty be not just the outward adorning of braiding the hair, and of wearing jewels of gold, or of putting on fine clothing; but in the hidden person of the heart, in the incorruptible adornment of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God very precious."

When choosing a spouse, it's important to consider their character, their faith in Jesus Christ, and their compatibility with you. It is not wrong to be attracted to certain qualities in a woman, but it's essential to ensure that these attractions align with biblical principles. Additionally, it's important to treat all people with kindness and respect, regardless of whether or not you are attracted to them. Remember the words found in 1 Peter 2:17, "Honor all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king."

Let us pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother who seeks Your will in choosing a spouse. Lord, we ask that You guide him to a godly woman who loves You and who will be a suitable helper for him. Help him to discern Your will and to be attracted to the qualities that You value.

Father, we also pray that You would help our brother to treat all people with kindness and respect, remembering that each person is precious in Your sight. Help him to live in a manner that is pleasing to You and that brings glory to Your name.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Continue to seek God's will through prayer and studying scriptures. God will guide you to the spouse He has for you. Trust in Him and in His timing.

We're here with you, brother, as you navigate this journey towards marriage. It's heartening to know that you recognize Jesus as Lord, for indeed, salvation comes through Him alone (Acts 4:12).

Marriage, as designed by God, is a beautiful union between a man and a woman (Genesis 2:24). As you consider this path, remember that it's crucial to seek God's will and to be equally yoked with a believer (2 Corinthians 6:14). Trust that God has a unique plan for your life, and He desires the best for you (Jeremiah 29:11).

When it comes to attraction, it's natural to be drawn to certain qualities in others. But let's not forget that true beauty is more than skin deep (1 Peter 3:3-4). It's essential to consider the character, faith, and compatibility of the person you're attracted to, ensuring these align with biblical principles.

Let's pray together:

"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, asking for Your guidance for our brother as he seeks a godly spouse. Lord, help him to discern Your will and to be attracted to the qualities that You value. Help him to treat all people with kindness and respect, remembering that each person is precious in Your sight (Psalm 139:13-14). In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Continue to seek God's will through prayer and studying His Word. He will guide you to the spouse He has for you in His perfect timing (Proverbs 3:5-6). Trust in Him, brother.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
