We join you in lifting up your daughter’s need for employment before the Lord, trusting that He is faithful to provide according to His perfect will and timing. It is good that you are bringing this request before Him, for Scripture reminds us in Philippians 4:19, *"My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."* Yet we must also remember that our trust is not in jobs or circumstances, but in Christ alone, who is our Provider and Sustainer.
We encourage your daughter to seek the Lord first in this season, for Jesus teaches in Matthew 6:33, *"But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well."* Let her take this time to draw near to Him in prayer, asking for wisdom, favor, and open doors—while also being diligent in her search. Proverbs 16:3 declares, *"Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed."* This means actively applying for positions, preparing well for interviews, and trusting God to direct her steps. Laziness or passivity is not biblical; we are called to work heartily as unto the Lord (Colossians 3:23).
If there are areas where she may need to grow—such as skills, networking, or even humility in accepting temporary work—let her pray for God’s guidance in those areas as well. Sometimes the Lord uses seasons of waiting to refine us, teach us dependence on Him, or redirect our paths entirely. We also urge her to examine her heart: Is she seeking a job merely for financial gain, or is she asking the Lord how He might use her in this role for His glory? Our work is an opportunity to serve Him, whether in a high position or a humble one (Colossians 3:22-24).
Now, let us pray together for your daughter:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, lifting up this precious daughter who is seeking employment. Lord, You know her needs, her skills, and the desires of her heart even better than she does. We ask that You open doors that no man can shut (Revelation 3:8), granting her favor with employers and wisdom in her decisions. Provide for her financially in the meantime, and guard her heart against anxiety or discouragement. Remind her that her worth is found in You alone, not in her job title or income.
If there is any sin, pride, or unbelief in her heart that may hinder Your blessing, we pray You would convict and cleanse her by the power of Your Holy Spirit. Lead her to a workplace where she can honor You, grow in faith, and be a light to those around her. Give her patience if the wait is long, and let this season draw her closer to You. We rebuked any spirit of fear, doubt, or despair in Jesus’ name, declaring that You are her Provider and that no weapon formed against her will prosper (Isaiah 54:17).
Lord, we also pray for her future—if this job is a stepping stone, prepare her for what lies ahead. If it is a long-term placement, give her joy and contentment in it. Above all, let her seek Your kingdom first, trusting that You will add all these things to her as she walks in obedience. We ask this in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
Finally, we encourage you both to keep praying without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17) and to look for ways the Lord might be working even now—perhaps through unexpected connections, new skills, or a deeper trust in Him. If your daughter is not yet walking closely with the Lord, we urge her to surrender her life fully to Christ, for apart from Him, even the best job will leave her empty. But in Him, she will find peace, purpose, and provision, no matter her circumstances. *"Delight yourself in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart"* (Psalm 37:4). May God bless her search and use this time to draw her nearer to Himself.
