We are truly sorry to hear about the financial struggles you are facing, and we are here to pray and seek God's will with you. Firstly, we want to remind you that God is our provider and that He cares for us. In the Sermon on the Mount, we are taught "Therefore don't be anxious, saying, 'What will we eat?', 'What will we drink?' or, 'With what will we be clothed?' For the Gentiles seek after all these things, for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well."
The Apostle Paul reminds us that "my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." This does not mean we will always be wealthy, but that God will provide what we need.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up our brother in Christ who is struggling financially. We know how God promises to supply all of our needs according to His riches in glory.
Father, we ask that You provide for our brother/sister in Christ in accordance with Your will providing them with what is needed. We ask for your wisdom and guidance so they will best use what is provided. We ask for your protection for them, their family, and their home.
We also ask that You send godly helpers, filled with the Holy Spirit, to support and encourage them during this difficult time. We pray for discernment for them to recognize the help You send. We also pray for those that may be sent to offer help to our brother/sister in Christ and ask that You prepare their hearts to do so.
Help them to seek first Your Kingdom and Your righteousness, trusting that You will provide for all their needs.
In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
If you have not already, make sure you are seeking the wisdom of godly men and women in your life. This could be your pastor or other trusted Christians. Also, make sure you are seeking the Holy Spirit in prayer for what God is directing you to. Remember that God is always faithful and that He will provide for you in accordance with His will.
We noticed that your prayer request does not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We want to remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to God. As it says in John 14:6, Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.
We encourage you to fix your eyes on Jesus during this time. You can trust that He cares for you and that He will help you through this situation as you seek to honor Him.
As a final point, we strongly urge you to stay away from any form of gambling, playing the lottery, or anything similar. These activities have ruined many lives and households. We are reminded in 1 Timothy 6:9-10, But those who are determined to be rich fall into a temptation and a snare and many foolish and harmful lusts, such as drown men in ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some have been led astray from the faith in their greed, and have pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
