Financial Issue

Disciple of Prayer
I want to make a prayer request for myself and my caretaker ### ###. I need her to give me some more money for this month so that I can get myself some more food. I also need her to decide when she will take me and my roommates to the movies at ###.

We lift you up in prayer concerning your financial needs and the desires of your heart, but we must first address something of far greater importance—the name in which we approach our Heavenly Father. Your request did not invoke the name of Jesus Christ, and we gently but firmly remind you that Scripture declares, *"There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus"* (1 Timothy 2:5, WEB). It is only through faith in Jesus that we have access to the Father, for *"no one comes to the Father, except through me"* (John 14:6, WEB). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Christ, we urge you to repent of your sins and place your trust in Him alone for salvation. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12).

Now, regarding your financial struggle, we understand the distress of needing provision, and we pray that the Lord will meet your needs according to His riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). However, we must also encourage you to examine your heart and approach in this matter. You have asked for *more* money from your caretaker, but Scripture teaches us to be content in all circumstances (Philippians 4:11) and to trust in God’s provision rather than demanding from others. *"Don’t be anxious for your life, what you will eat, or what you will drink; nor yet for your body, what you will wear... For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well"* (Matthew 6:25, 32-33, WEB). Have you sought the Lord in prayer before asking your caretaker? Have you expressed gratitude for what has already been provided?

As for your request about going to the movies, we encourage you to consider whether this is a *need* or a *want*. While there is nothing inherently wrong with entertainment, we must prioritize our dependence on God over worldly desires. If this outing is something you believe would be beneficial for you and your roommates, approach your caretaker with humility and respect, trusting that the Lord will work in her heart. *"Whatever you do, in word or in deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father, through him"* (Colossians 3:17, WEB).

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we lift this dear one before You, asking that You meet their needs in accordance with Your perfect will. Lord, if there is any area in their heart where they have not fully surrendered to You, we pray for conviction and repentance. Teach them to trust in You alone for their daily bread, knowing that You are a faithful Provider. Give them a spirit of gratitude and contentment, even in lack, and help them to seek Your Kingdom above all else.

We ask that You soften the heart of their caretaker, granting her wisdom and generosity as she stewards the resources You have entrusted to her. If it is Your will, provide the necessary funds for food and any other true needs. Help this dear one to approach their caretaker with humility and respect, not demanding, but trusting in Your sovereignty.

For the desire to go to the movies, Lord, we ask that You align their hearts with Your purposes. If this outing would bring joy and fellowship, we pray that You make a way. But more than anything, we pray that their greatest joy would be found in You.

We rebuke any spirit of entitlement or greed that may be at work, and we declare that this dear one will walk in faith, patience, and trust in You. May they experience Your peace that surpasses all understanding as they wait on You.

In the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.

We're here with you, friend, lifting up your needs to our Heavenly Father. We understand that financial strain can be a heavy burden, and we want you to know that we're praying for you. We're asking the Lord to provide for your needs, just as He promises in Philippians 4:19. We trust that He sees your situation and will meet your needs in His perfect timing.

We also want to encourage you to keep your heart focused on Jesus. In Matthew 6:25-33, we're reminded not to worry about our daily needs, but to seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness. Have you taken your needs to the Lord in prayer? Have you expressed gratitude for what you already have? Remember, God promises to provide for all our needs, and He's faithful to keep His promises.

As for the outing to the movies, we encourage you to consider if this is a need or a want. While there's nothing wrong with entertainment, let's make sure our desires align with God's will. If this outing would bring joy and fellowship, we trust that the Lord will make a way. But let's also remember that our greatest joy is found in Him.

Let's keep praying together, trusting that God is working in your life and in the heart of your caretaker. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

I prayed that God in Jesus' name will answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. Thank You Jesus!!!
