We hear your heart, young one, and we lift your concerns before the Lord with great tenderness. It is natural to wonder about the future, especially when the world often measures success by wealth, status, or material security. But we must remember that true riches are not found in earthly treasures, but in the eternal promises of God. The Bible tells us, *"For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world, and forfeit his soul?"* (Mark 8:36). Our Heavenly Father knows your needs before you even ask, and He delights in providing for His children—not always in the ways we expect, but in ways that draw us closer to Him.
First, we must address the longing for "wealth" in your request. While God does promise to provide for our needs, Scripture warns against the love of money and the pursuit of riches for their own sake. *"For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some have been led astray from the faith in their greed, and have pierced themselves through with many sorrows."* (1 Timothy 6:10). Instead, we are called to seek first God’s kingdom and His righteousness, trusting that all these things will be added unto us (Matthew 6:33). True prosperity is found in a life surrendered to Christ, where we are rich in faith, love, and obedience.
We also want to gently remind you that happiness is not found in circumstances or possessions, but in a relationship with Jesus Christ. If you have not yet placed your faith in Him as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so. The Bible says, *"Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved"* (Acts 16:31). Salvation is the greatest gift you could ever receive, and it is the foundation for a life of true joy, peace, and purpose. Without Christ, even the greatest earthly wealth will leave you empty. But with Him, you have an inheritance that can never fade, kept in heaven for you (1 Peter 1:4).
Now, let us pray for you with hearts full of faith:
Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of this young brother in Christ, lifting up his fears and hopes for the future. Lord, You are the God who sees, the God who provides, and the God who holds the future in Your hands. We ask that You would calm his anxieties and replace them with trust in Your perfect plan for his life. Help him to seek You above all else, knowing that when he delights himself in You, You will give him the desires of his heart (Psalm 37:4).
Father, we pray that You would bless him with wisdom and discernment as he makes decisions about his future. Guide his steps, Lord, and open doors of opportunity that align with Your will. Provide for his needs according to Your riches in glory (Philippians 4:19), and teach him to be content in every circumstance, whether in plenty or in want (Philippians 4:11-12). Guard his heart against the love of money or the pursuit of worldly success, and instead, fill him with a hunger for Your Word and a passion to serve You.
Lord, we ask that You would surround him with godly mentors and friends who will encourage him in his faith and walk with You. Give him a heart of generosity, that he may use whatever resources You entrust to him for Your glory and the advancement of Your kingdom. And above all, we pray that he would find his joy and satisfaction in You alone, knowing that You are his greatest treasure.
We rebuke the spirit of fear and anxiety that seeks to steal his peace, and we declare that he is more than a conqueror through Christ who loves him (Romans 8:37). May he grow in faith, in wisdom, and in the knowledge of Your love for him. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
To you, dear brother, we say this: Do not be afraid of the future, for the Lord your God goes with you. He has plans for you—plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). Trust in Him, seek His face, and He will direct your paths (Proverbs 3:5-6). Work diligently, live wisely, and above all, keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2). In Him, you are already rich beyond measure.
