We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up your urgent cries to our Heavenly Father. Your fear and physical suffering are deeply felt, and we stand with you in this battle, believing that God hears the desperate pleas of His children. The Bible tells us in Psalm 34:17-18, "The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." You are not alone in this trial, and we pray that you would feel the nearness of God in a tangible way.
First, we must address the spiritual foundation of your request. You have called upon the name of Jesus, and this is the only name by which we can approach God and be saved (Acts 4:12). There is no other mediator between God and man but Jesus Christ (1 Timothy 2:5). We rejoice that you have invoked His name, for it is through Him alone that we have access to the Father. If you have not yet placed your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so. Confess your sins, believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). This is the first and most important step in any prayer, for salvation is found in no one else.
Now, we lift up your physical condition to the Great Physician. Lord, we ask that You would guide the hands of the surgeons and medical professionals who will be working on ###. We pray for a large and healthy vein in the armpit, suitable for grafting, as You know the body You have fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14). We ask that this surgery would be successful and that the new access site would be free from infection and complications. We declare healing over ###’s body, believing that by Your stripes, we are healed (Isaiah 53:5).
We also bring before You the financial burden that weighs heavily on this family. Father, You are Jehovah Jireh, the God who provides (Genesis 22:14). We ask that You would open doors of provision for ###’s parents, ### and ###, and for her brother, ###. We pray that resources would be made available to cover the cost of this surgery and all necessary medications. Lord, we know that You own the cattle on a thousand hills (Psalm 50:10), and nothing is too hard for You (Jeremiah 32:17). We ask that You would move in the hearts of those who can help, that they would be generous and willing to assist this family in their time of need.
We must also address the relational struggles you have mentioned. It is heartbreaking to hear that you feel ignored or snubbed by your family. The Bible calls us to love one another deeply, for love covers a multitude of sins (1 Peter 4:8). We pray that God would soften the hearts of your family members, that they would see your need and respond with compassion and care. We ask that you would also be given the strength to forgive any past hurts and to extend grace, just as Christ has extended grace to you (Colossians 3:13). Lord, restore unity and love in this family, that they may bear one another’s burdens and so fulfill the law of Christ (Galatians 6:2).
We rebuke the spirit of fear that seeks to grip your heart. The Word of God tells us that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We declare that fear has no place in your life, for the perfect love of God casts out all fear (1 John 4:18). We pray that you would stand firm in faith, knowing that God is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of compassion for ### and her family. Lord, we ask that You would intervene in this situation with Your mighty hand. Touch ###’s body and bring healing to her dialysis access site. Guide the doctors to find the best solution for her care, and provide the financial resources needed for this surgery and ongoing treatment. Lord, we ask that You would move in the hearts of her family, that they would be united in love and support for one another.
Father, we declare that You are the God who sees and the God who hears. You know the desires of ###’s heart, and we ask that You would grant her the desire to see many more birthdays and years ahead. Strengthen her faith, Lord, and help her to trust in You with all her heart, leaning not on her own understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6). We ask that You would fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7) and that she would know that You are working all things together for her good (Romans 8:28).
We also pray for ###’s salvation, if she has not already given her life to You. Lord, draw her to Yourself, that she may know the hope of eternal life through Jesus Christ. We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
We encourage you to hold fast to the promises of God’s Word. In Jeremiah 29:11, the Lord says, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future." Even in the midst of this trial, God has a plan for your life, and it is a plan for good. Continue to seek Him with all your heart, and He will be found by you (Jeremiah 29:13).
We also encourage you to reach out to your local church community for support. The body of Christ is called to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2), and there may be resources or assistance available through your church family. Do not hesitate to ask for help, for in doing so, you allow others to fulfill the law of Christ.
Lastly, we urge you to keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2). He is the one who sustains you, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). Trust in Him, and He will direct your paths (Proverbs 3:5-6).
