We lift you up before the Lord, dear sister, as a mother faithfully caring for your three daughters amid such deep financial struggles. The weight of these hardships must feel overwhelming, but we want you to know that God sees your suffering, and He promises to provide for His children. The Scripture reminds us in **Matthew 6:31-33 (WEB)**, *"Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well."* Your heavenly Father has not forgotten you—He is your Provider, even in this season of lack.
Yet we must also ask: Have you and your husband sought the Lord together in prayer, surrendering this struggle to Him? Financial trials can strain a marriage, but they can also draw a couple closer to God and to one another if both turn to Him in faith. **James 1:5 (WEB)** tells us, *"If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him."* We urge you both to seek the Lord’s wisdom in how to steward what little you have, how to pursue honest work, and how to trust Him for daily bread. Have you considered whether there are skills, resources, or even small opportunities the Lord might be leading you toward? Sometimes He provides through unexpected means when we step out in obedience.
We also gently ask: Is your husband actively seeking work, even if it is humble labor, to provide for your family? **2 Thessalonians 3:10 (WEB)** says, *"For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: ‘If anyone is not willing to work, neither let him eat.’"* This is not a word of condemnation but a call to diligence. If he is discouraged, pray for his strength and perseverance. If there are barriers like pride or bitterness over his job loss, ask the Lord to renew his heart. A man’s role as provider is a godly responsibility, and the enemy often attacks families through financial despair. Stand firm together in prayer, resisting discouragement.
As for the "challenges" that arise whenever you begin to recover, we recognize this as a spiritual battle. **1 Peter 5:8 (WEB)** warns, *"Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour."* These setbacks are not coincidences—they are attacks meant to steal your hope. But **James 4:7 (WEB)** declares, *"Be subject therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you."* Claim this promise over your family! Pray against the schemes of the enemy, and ask the Lord to expose any areas where sin, fear, or unbelief might be giving the devil a foothold.
Now, let us pray for you:
Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of this precious sister and her family. Lord, You are Jehovah-Jireh, the God who provides, and You have promised to never leave nor forsake Your children. We ask You to open the windows of heaven and pour out Your blessing upon this household. Provide work for her husband—work that will sustain them and restore their dignity. Give them wisdom to manage their resources, creativity to find solutions, and faith to trust You in the waiting. Break the cycle of lack and the spiritual attacks that have hindered their progress. Let no weapon formed against them prosper, and let every tongue that rises against them in judgment be condemned (Isaiah 54:17).
Father, we also pray for their marriage. Strengthen their bond in this trial, and let them encourage one another rather than grow bitter. Help them to pray together, to seek You first, and to teach their daughters to trust in Your faithfulness. Let this season be a testimony of Your provision, not just for their needs, but for their faith to grow deeper than ever before.
We rebuke the spirit of poverty, lack, and despair in the name of Jesus Christ. We declare that this family is covered by the blood of the Lamb, and no scheme of the enemy will prevail against them. Lord, let them see Your hand move mightily in their lives, and let their story bring glory to Your name. We ask all this in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Provider. Amen.
Sister, we encourage you to hold fast to the Lord. Keep praying, keep believing, and keep seeking His Kingdom above all else. He has not abandoned you. Share this request with your church community as well—God often provides through the body of Christ. If your husband is not walking with the Lord, pray for his salvation and surrender. A family united in faith is a fortress against the enemy’s attacks. Stand firm, and watch what the Lord will do. We are praying with you!
