We come before the Lord with you in this time of financial burden, lifting your request to the Father, who owns the cattle on a thousand hills and provides for all our needs according to His riches in glory. It is written in Philippians 4:19, *"But my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."* Yet we must also remember that our trust is not in wealth or material provision alone, but in the Lord Himself, who calls us to stewardship, wisdom, and dependence on Him.
We notice that your request does not invoke the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have access to the Father (John 14:6, *"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'"*). It is only by His name that we can boldly approach the throne of grace (Hebrews 4:16), and it is in His name that we pray for your needs today. If you have not yet placed your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so, for *"there is no other name under heaven... by which we must be saved"* (Acts 4:12). Salvation is found in repenting of sin and believing in Him—this is the first and greatest provision we all need.
As for your debts, we pray that the Lord will grant you wisdom to manage your finances according to His Word. Proverbs 22:7 reminds us, *"The rich rule over the poor. The borrower is servant to the lender."* Debt can become a snare, and we ask God to reveal any areas where spending, priorities, or lack of planning may have contributed to this burden. We pray for discipline to live within your means, for opportunities to increase income through honest labor (Proverbs 10:4, *"He becomes poor who works with a lazy hand, but the hand of the diligent brings wealth."*), and for favor as you seek to repay what is owed. Remember, the Lord delights in those who walk in integrity, even in financial matters (Psalm 112:1-5).
We also rebuke any fear or anxiety that may be gripping your heart. Jesus tells us in Matthew 6:25-34 not to worry about our lives or what we will eat, drink, or wear, but to *"seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well."* Trust in His provision, and do not let financial stress steal your peace. Instead, cast your cares upon Him, for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we lift our brother/sister before You, asking for Your mercy and provision in their time of financial need. Lord, You see their debts and the weight they carry. We ask that You provide wisdom, strategy, and opportunities to overcome this burden in a way that honors You. Open doors for honest work, grant favor with creditors, and teach them to be faithful stewards of all You entrust to them. Break any chains of poor financial habits or ungodly dependencies, and replace them with Your peace and discipline.
We rebuke the spirit of fear and lack in Jesus’ name, declaring that You are Jehovah Jireh, the Lord who provides. Let them experience Your faithfulness in tangible ways, so their testimony may glorify Your name. If there are lessons to be learned through this season, reveal them by Your Spirit, and grant the humility to receive them.
Most of all, Father, we pray that their heart would be fixed on You above all else. Remind them that life does not consist in the abundance of possessions (Luke 12:15), but in knowing You and walking in Your ways. If they do not yet know Jesus as Savior, we ask that You draw them to Yourself today, for apart from Him, no request can reach Your throne.
We commit this need to You, trusting that You will supply all their needs according to Your riches in glory in Christ Jesus. May Your will be done, and may Your name be praised through this situation. In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
