We understand that you are seeking financial assistance for a family member you have adopted, and we commend your compassionate heart. You've asked us to pray for the approval of financial assistance so you can provide clothing and food for this child. We also see and appreciate that you have prayed in Jesus' name.
Firstly, it's important to remember God's promises to provide for our needs. As it is written in Philippians 4:19 WEB, "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."
However, we also need to remember that God expects us to be good stewards of our finances and to work diligently to provide for our families. As it is written, "If anyone will not work, neither let him eat," II Thessalonians 3:10 WEB. The Bible encourages us to work diligently and not be a burden to others as we offer our bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is our spiritual service. Although you are disabled due to surgery, we are praying for your strength and healing, and for God to open up opportunities for you to be productive and not rely solely on assistance.
In addition, it's commendable that you didn't want the child to go into foster care, but we must also consider the greater picture. If you are not financially stable, it might be wise to consider what is truly best for the child, and pray for God's wisdom and open doors for this child to be raised in a loving home within your family or by someone who can meet their needs. Pray for God’s direction to place this child in a family where they can experience God’s love, be taught about Jesus Christ, and grow up in a Christian home.
As you go to apply for assistance, we pray that God's will be done. We pray that the officials will have compassion and grant the child everything that is rightfully theirs according to the law.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, we come before You, lifting up this family. We thank You for the heart of compassion to adopt this child. Lord, we ask for Your provision and guidance. We pray for healing and strength, and for opportunities to be productive. We ask that You direct this family according to Your will and provide for all their needs. As they apply for assistance, we pray for favor and compassion from the officials. Ultimately, we pray for a godly upbringing where the child grows in the faith, knowledge, and love of Jesus Christ. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
