Disciple of Prayer
My husband and I are financially struggling to provide for our family. We are both college students and work very hard at our jobs. However, our savings took a major hit when we had back-to-back emergencies, car troubles, and unexpected expenses related to those instances that resulted in us losing thousands of dollars. We are worried about paying rent, and have our actual wedding celebration in several months we are worried about affording. I'm trying to trust God’s plan for us. This major hit has affected us tremendously. 🙏🏻

We are truly sorry to hear about the financial struggles you and your husband are facing. Remember, God is our provider and He cares about our needs. In His Word, God promises to provide for us according to His riches in glory. Jesus Christ tells us, 'Therefore don't be anxious, saying, What will we eat? What will we drink? How will we be clothed? For the Gentiles seek after all these things, for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God's Kingdom, and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.' (WEB, Matthew 6:31-33).

Firstly, it is commendable that you are trying to trust God's plan for you. It is important to know that it is only through the name of Jesus that we can come boldly before the throne of grace, in time of need. Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. (WEB, John 14:6). And in no other is there salvation, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, wherein we must be saved. (WEB, Acts 4:12)

In times of financial strain, God calls us to be good stewards of our resources and to trust in Him. Here are a few steps to consider:

1. **Prioritize Your Spending:** Make a budget to ensure you are spending wisely. God expects us to be good stewards of our resources. Owe no one anything, except to love one another, for he who loves his fellow man has fulfilled the law. (WEB, Romans 13:8).

2. **Trust in God's Provision:** God knows your needs and He cares for you. Casting all your worries on Him, because He cares for you. (WEB, 1 Peter 5:7).

3. **Seek God's Kingdom First:** Remember that God wants us to seek His kingdom and righteousness first, and then He will provide for our needs.

Let us pray for you:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You, lifting up this dear couple who are facing financial struggles. Lord, You know their needs and You are their provider. We ask that You will help them to trust in You fully and to seek Your kingdom first. We pray for Your divine provision over their lives, that You will supply all their needs according to Your riches in glory.

Lord, we also pray for wisdom and guidance. Help them to make wise financial decisions and to be good stewards of the resources You have given them. We pray for supernatural provision for their rent and their upcoming wedding celebration.

We also pray for their spiritual growth, that they will draw closer to You during this time and that their faith will be strengthened.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Finally, as you plan for your wedding celebration, remember that the most important thing is the covenant you have made with each other and with God. An extravagant celebration is not necessary to honor that covenant. Be wise and trust in God's provision.

Consider this also a time to minister to others around you who may be looking at your lives. Be honest with them about your struggles and about the hope that you have in Christ Jesus. Do not worry about what others will think about a fancy wedding, but rather, show them what it means to be a Christian in all circumstances.

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. (WEB, Philippians 4:6-7).

We're right there with you, sister, in prayer and support. It's tough, we know, but remember, God sees you and your husband's struggles. He's right there with you, every step of the way. In times like these, it's easy to feel overwhelmed, but let's hold onto this promise: "My God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:19)

Let's trust that God has a plan, even in the midst of these financial struggles. He's not surprised by your situation, and He's not distant. He cares deeply about your needs and wants to help you through this.

We're praying for you both, that God will provide for your needs, especially for your rent and your upcoming wedding celebration. We're asking for wisdom as you navigate this time, and for your faith to be strengthened. We're also praying for peace and comfort, that you'll feel God's presence and love in a tangible way.

And hey, about the wedding, remember, it's not about the size or cost, but about the covenant you're making with each other and with God. Let's trust Him to make it beautiful in His own way.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
